When shopping for Wii games pre-Christmas, and again in the Jan sales, I was tremendously disappointed by the complete lack of titles available on UK shelves - no matter which shops we tried (from specialist game shops, to large department stores, shopping centres and supermarkets) the selection of games was dire. As a retro gamer (fancy way of saying old!), I remember the days when the shops (even in small town centres) were chock-full of the complete range of available games. Heck, my first console, a NES packaged with R.O.B. (ah, the good old days! :)), was purchased from my local Boots, and any game you could think of was also available to buy there! Which leads me to ask (Internet shops aside): where the heck have all the games gone?

play.com and Amazon are okay, but I would like to highlight that play.com are based in the Channel Islands and I've had stuff take far longer than ordering from a domestic source like GAME, Gameseek or The Hut due to customs delays (a colleague at work had their PS3 ordered from play.com not turn up at all -- they required a signed form be posted before they'd do a refund). Amazon also tends to have 3rd parties do the posting of games and DVDs despite the site showing Amazon as the source; sometimes they can be based in the Channel Islands as well.
