@Aviator: Can you? Are you sure? I hope you're right, but I dunno, lets hope for the best right?

You can re-download them because you already bought them on the previous account.

That's right, if the unthinkable happends and you bought another Wii all you have to do is call Nintendo and they will switch your account over.

@Retro_Gamer: Wait, so you're saying that Nintendo will allow you to transfer WiiWare/VC that you bought on the Wii to the Wii2? Have they stated it anywhere or are you guessing?

I've spoken to a representative over the phone and that's what they told me.

I think Retro_Gamer might be talking about if your Wii breaks you can transfer your games to another Wii, not to the Wii2 (or whatever it will be called)

@brooks83: Yea, my guess is that they didn't read the posts carefully prior to this page, but it would be awesome if Nintendo confirmed it.

Huh? Who said anything about re-releasing the games in cartridge form again? They are already available, why re-release them? It may be more of a niche market than buying current generation games, but the market is still pretty big. Have you ever typed in NES into Ebay? You said yourself that the VC is there to cash in on people buying old used games, so apparently the market must be big enough that Nintendo sees reason to have the VC in the first place. But hey, nothing wrong with wanting to buy from the VC only if you want, but you're going to miss out on a lot of games that may never appear on the VC.

As for the games looking better on the VC, that's not really an issue to me. I grew up on my games with an RF connection on a small SDTV, so it's not that big of a deal.

The demand to play the games is separate from the demand to play them on their original console. I know you wont understand that so lets continue. It is simple supply and demand. Show that there is a demand and they might increase the supply, I am not a publisher so I can't predict anything. For what you are advocating, the supply is dwindling continuously.
Frankly, I question the future of the Virtual Console. Remakes seem to be the preferred direction.

@Retro_Gamer: You make me sad(no, not really). Oh well, at least you were trying to help. Hehheh.

@WanderingHypocrite: I agree, Virtual Console's future seems bleak, but only because Nintendo chooses to not release games on VC in the frequency that they used to. I may be off, but I can swear that a few years back we were getting maybe 3-5 VC games a week, then it dropped to 2, then 1, then maybe next week. I think sequels are great, but have a better chance succeeding when the market has played the original and not everyone has. What was my point again? Oh yea, that I agree with you, but its not the market that is controlling this trend.

I see your point. Obviously digital downloads are the future, no publisher in their right mind is going to make more SNES or NES cartridges. My only point was there is still a farily large market for older video games. Don't get me wrong, the VC is awesome and I have downloaded quite a few games off of it, but buying the original games has it's own benefits too.
