I only ever played it once, with all four characters, that one day I was at CiCi's. It was so fun, I think I got as far as the third or fourth stage. I would buy it too. I miss it so much!
I fail to see how such a game could not have received a 16-bit port (whether in the SNES or MegaDrive). Sure, the four player mode would've scrapped for a two player mode, certain parts could've been clean, and the Mode 7 would've worked out well. I think it would've looked and played good on the SNES, if Konami ever considered it.
Welllllllllll... they did have this one for the C64, but it doesn't look like something that's suited for the C64. (then again the C64 had more ports than I can think of) [youtube:Yx7bwkBlo9Y] Judge for yourself. I think it looks alright considering the computers limitations.
Are you kidding me? why does homer say y'ello in that video? why not D'OH!? and also at 0:41 marge and homer arent even looking at the tv. i think the cutscenes were absolutely mangled from the arcade. and the gameplay looks terribly boring too. ah well, stick with the arcade version then.
ON TOPIC: ah The Simpsons, one of my very first video game memories. I think i spent 10 dollars playing that game when i was 5. even if you had no idea how you pulled off the move you did, it was AWESOME. it will always have a place in my heart.
