I still can't find anything in the main room in Atlantis. The only ping I get is what I assume is something in a room behind the Arsenal Replicator, and the game currently won't let me do any exploring in Atlantis.
The Hive Cannon blueprints aren't at the beginning of the Oxford University / Crash Site level. The only things I found near the beginning of that level are a conspiracy message and an energy upgrade with no other pings in the area after you hack the conduit.
I did replay the Trust Platform level to focus on the secrets and found the Deatomizer blueprints, although I still missed a few things.
i also notice that i don't like the weapons as much as i did in the first game. the rebalancing really neutered the strike rifle and deatomizer, everything that made them good originally is lost. the scar is the only gun that i actually like better this time, maybe the mp5k. the new guns also feel too gimmicky to practically use in combat, they got a little too creative there for their own good. with all these off the wall concepts there's no one all around good straightforward gun that you can use for everything.
I have to agree, the newer guns are pretty awful and there is no all-round good gun.
Actually, there is a good all-around gun with the right upgrade. The Strike Rifle is perfect for the job if you use the Energy Focus upgrade.
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

it's way too slow for me at short range. the USP is my all around favorite, and if you pair it with the scar then you've got long and short range covered. i've tried experimenting with the other guns but it's hard to have no interest in them, why mess with all the gimmicky business when you can just blast away with the pistol.
In that case, try the Deatomizer in secondary fire mode with the Energy Focus Upgrade. Then, if you've got a good medium-range shot open, switch to primary mode and use the charge shot. For long range, pair it with the Strike Rifle.

in crash site you need to jump across the ruble on your right as soon as you come out of the conduit, just get a running start. If the stuff isn't in alantis yet, it won't be until the end of the game, I think it was inside the level when you were allowed to explore it, but put there if you missed it since you're locked in that room afterward. I think the blueprint is under the stair case, after shooting two skimmers you go down stairs to a sniper, drones, another skimmer, and the invisible soldiers. after you clear the area and before you scan the symbol to have the bridge rise, go under the staircase and scan it, if that's not it, than it has to be at one of the ends of the second floor area in the room with the four hallways.
how does the gun that shoots through walls fare online?
If you camp behind walls your fine.
I've had to actually start using the Phase Rifle since EVRYONE is using it. The worst map for it is probably Agartha, so many hidey holes for people to camp behind walls, tune in on you and blow your head off.
The USP is a pretty awesome little pistol, its the exact same the Desert Eagle in CoD. The Scar seems to be getting used a fair bit too, if you have Ballistics Focus and Improved Ballistics Focus then you can just run straight through them.
The Strike Rifle is the worst of them all, it takes ages to fire off another round and is quite weak comapred to other guns. The Deatomizer is only strong with its primary fire, the secondary is pretty awful.
Also, has anyone else found that there are a lot of jumping monkeys on this game? Probably due to The Conduit, but after a while that just gets annoying with everyone jumping up and down all over the show, what a bunch of noobs.
i think cod 1 patched the jumping so that when you land you slow down, hopefully hvs will do the same. and why not just play private matches?
What do you mean private matches? There's no one to play with on here. If HVS weren't so preoccupied with getting as many players in the game as possible maybe they could've made it a worldwide thing, but instead they region lock it, what a bunch of idiots.
Hopefully they do patch the jumping, doing that all the time is ridiculous. At least in CoD if you jumped your second jump wouldn't be as high until you "rested" (as in crouch or not use jump for a while), but on here its super jump after super jump after super jump... it really does take the biscuit at times.
Hopefully they do patch the jumping, doing that all the time is ridiculous.
they had said they were going to work on that after the first game but they don't seem to have changed anything i can see. you'd have to be a total jack*** to hit the A button all throughout every fight.
the problem with the deatomizer and most other guns is that they're slow and cumbersome to use. the full auto deatomizer is weaker than the semi auto version in the first game and it's not very accurate, plus the bullets travel really slowly, not at all a good all around gun. if you want to use the charge up shot you have to switch modes now, which ruins the charging on the fly that originally made the gun great. in a fight by the time you switch modes and charge up you're going to be dead or near dead. you can still save it for when someone's back is turned i guess, but you could easily just go for headshots with the USP and take them down immediately instead of charging up and risk them turning around.
i'm still saving up for the carbonizer. it was pretty cool in the first game, it'll be interesting to see how they've tweaked it.
Well then, everyones a jack***. Everyone I've seen spams the bajeebus out of the jump button, and with lock on, jumpers have a hold over you.
I feel no difference to the Carbonizer except the mode change, instant fire with that thing is all over the place online. Crash Site is the worst victim for this gun, you can easily have all 12 players Carbonizering up the whole joint, or using the TPC Launcher... or Phase Rifle... or Hive Cannon...
What ticks me off the most is, there is no guns/perks that counteract each other, its down to shoot first, shoot quick, shoot accurate and win. But with jumpers and little spamming s**ts in the game, winning a fire fight is a chore... and being on radar constantly really does screw you over if your use to not appearing on radar, like me.
If your use to Halo (which is the same as C2) than you won't find many problems. But C2 isn't trying to be unique, it's just copying Halo, even some of the weapons are complete remakes or rip-offs from Halo.
Also, how to win easily: Hive Cannon + Lock-On = WIN
Yeah, I don't like having to switch modes to use the charge shot on the Deatomizer either, but the full-auto mode on that one and the Strike Rifle are just fine when you use the Energy Focus upgrade. The Strike Rifle is semi-automatic. How does it fire too slowly?
xDemon720x, just get the Stealth upgrade if you don't like being on radar.

There is a "hesitation" before the next round fires on the Strike Rifle, I think this was to nerf the gun so it wasn't TOO powerful. Either way, compared to the USP it is REALLY slow... I'd rather have an automatic gun than some semi-automatic rifle.
You know how hard getting 30 backstabs is? When your on radar constantly it is nigh impossible.

The Strike Rifle always fires as fast as I pull the trigger, and that's good enough for me.
Are you saying it's a full-automatic pistol? As powerful as that pistol is, I thought for sure it was only semi-automatic. I'll have to try that out.
Oh, is that how you unlock the Stealth upgrade? You'll get there eventually. I've already got two of them, and I'm pretty bad. You should get there quickly if you play a bunch of "Hardcore Free-For-All" online matchmaking games where there's no radar. In fact, you could just always play that kind of game until you unlock the upgrade, since that was your goal all along.

The USP is only semi-automatic, but the bullets come out like rockets. All you have to do is keep it steady and keep pressing the fire button, they're usually down in 6-7 bullets. The HVS45 is pretty awful too, it takes ages before you can fire again but it has much higher damage compared to the other pistols.
I haven't really bothered with HCFFA yet... but with only 6 players maximum (I think) it might be a lot easier, just that most people camp with their little Widowmakers and SMAWs... grrrr...
I did some tests. Pulling the trigger as fast as I can, I can fire off one Strike Rifle shot every time I pull the trigger twice, while the USP is fully semi-automatic. At close range with no armor, it takes 5 chest shots to kill someone with the Strike Rifle, with or without the Energy Focus upgrade. Under the same conditions, it takes 12 shots to kill someone with the USP or 11 shots with the Ballistics Focus upgrade. Therefore, the Strike Rifle does more damage per second, and you don't need to shoot as quickly as you can when shooting at a moving target, anyway.

You must be doing it wrong, I can take 'em down in 5-6 shots.
Also the new update is crap, it nerfs the Hive Cannon like crazy, it takes much longer to kill ANYONE! Do it with the SCAR and it blitzes through them... also the SMAW and Phase Rifles seem to have gotten a significant damage boost. So much so, everyones using the PR and SMAW, eff you HVS... EFF YOU!!!!

Doesn't your own quote here suggest that nerfing the Hive Cannon was a good idea? It was probably a mistake to power up up the Phase Rifle, though.
