My most looked forward to game of 2010 is finally here! Woot Woot!!
It's common knowledge that TatsuCap is an AWESOME game (the reviews speak for themselves), the only thing that frustrates me is that many people have only bought this game because of said reviews and may not support this game by learning its deep fundamentals once the novelty wears off, this will lead to the usual "this game is not as awesome as I thought, I'm disappointed, this character is so cheap, why isn't insert character name here in this game, why can't I beat every person I meet online even though I've only been playing the game for less than a week, on-line is soooooooooo laggy! Everyone uses Ryu!!" nonsense comments. Sadly a similar mentality plagued SF4 and most fighters but those serious about the game play on, I for one am here for the long run with TatsuCap hope u will be too!
But thankfully like my topic title said "things can only get better", after a few weeks those that bought the game because of its "essential purchase" status will get bored and go play the next "essential purchase" title. And by this time those who are actually "serious" about this game (new recruits and veterans) will take their awesome skills on-line, I for one can't wait for these battles! So chin up if you are annoyed/frustrated or irked by the silly comments that are found on many forums. Capcom has graced the Wii with one of the best fighters available on ANY system, let's not make them regret their choice. So spend time with this game it deserves it and trust me your patience will be rewarded, like I said in the beginning things can only get better!

It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!

I've asked it before all over this forum and got no response so I'll try again here: does the online work, i.e. lag free with quick matchmaking? Or, is it as balked as SSBB? Any further ignores and I'll plump for the latter and save my pennies.

I've only experienced one really laggy match out of the 20 or so I've played, and that was with a forum member who said he had a bad connection. One or two other battles that had just a touch of lag, but not unplayable. It all has to do with the player's internet connection.
Matchmaking can take a minute, usually no longer than that. There's a nice group of forum members you can friend up with as well, and TvC works nicely in that you can see how many friends are online and you'll get a notice if one of them wants to play with you.
It's leaps and bounds better than Brawl's online.
Edit - Just FYI - I answered your question in a thread two days.

No online game is completely lag free, there are too many unknown factors that could effect it, what I can say is that online in this game is good and lag hasn't been a problem for me. I wouldn't recommend buying a game just for one feature though, but I can say this game would still be awesome even if it didn't have online!
After playing it I still prefer Marvel vs Capcom 2, but that's mainly because I don't have a clue about who the anime characters are. All in all, a pretty good fighter for the Wii which has been lacking in that genre for some time.

Ta for reponse Dru192 and ReZon, and apologies to ReZon for missing your earlier response...! Anyway, it sounds a winner. Off to the shops tomorrow I go...

I'm glad you posted this thread Dru192, because I've made the same accusations to Tatsunoku vs. Capcom since I've got it. I know I'm completely jumping the gun here and getting totally off-topic, but are there any people here that have been feeling the same way about the game as I have? Playing the game coming from Super Smash Bros. Brawl, I was kind of dissapointed. It's not as polished as I expected (at least when I was navigating the menus), and the fighting was more complicated than I had initially imagined. I'm using the classic controller which I believe is the easiest control method besides the expensive arcade stick, and I'm still having trouble aiming my combos, memorizing them, and even having the dexterity to perform them correctly.
As for the game not being user-friendly, I've found that when I click on arcade mode, I can't return to the main menu from there if I change my mind. I have to start the battle first. Also, when I'm waiting for a match online, an annoying black screen will cover the connection symbol, and it's not very pretty to look at either. These are little things, but I'm still bothered by them enough that they have become an issue.
Are you sure we can overlook these slight (and sometimes game-breaking, since the controllers just aren't up to the task of performing some of the combos) design flaws? Did you find any of the things I mentioned above to be a problem or an annoyance?
If you think New Super Mario Bros. Wii is hard, try Super Mario Bros. 3.

I think I saw you online DK VS KK. Because I remember thinking about KK Slider when I saw your name.
The menu interface isn't very attractive to me, but it isn't a big deal.
There is a way to turn on Simple Controls. Its in the main Options menu. But the move inputs are similar to Smash Bros as opposed to other fighter games.
Somebody set up us the bomb. Wii: 8703 7486 8875 3789 I love PWN3NG NintendoLife members on Tatsunoko :-)

It just depends on what you want in a fighter, I really couldn't get into brawl as I came from a Street Fighter background. This eased me into TatsuCap as most of the basic techniques were ones I'd already come across. I'd say I'm quite a competent player and have tried using the classic controller, classic controller pro and hori fightstick and I'm pretty happy with the C.C.P. With regards to a lot of the aesthetic problems u mentioned I honestly never even noticed them I was too busy having fun.
TBH I'm probably more enthusiastic and forgiving than most with regards to this game as the original was my favourite ever Wii game and this looks set to take its title. All I can recommend is to take time to learn the games ins and outs, spend a lot of time in practice mode honing ur skills and then if u still not feeling the game then at least u can say u gave it a go. I really hope u end up liking it though

@Ramandus: You saw me online? I was on last night, but the box at the top of the page said "0 friends are online". So I did a quick ranked match and logged off. Do you want to have a match online today? What's the best time for you?
I might have to try the simple controls, but I might be better off learning the combos, since I'd imagine that's what everyone is using online to win. Maybe if I used a gamecube controller the combos might be easier to pull off...
@Dru192: Yeah, I'd have to agree. If the gameplay is appealing, I find it easier to overlook slight presentation problems. If you can overlook them, so can I! My friend code is in my signature. I'll add yours too. Will the match be laggy though, since I'm in the U.S. and you're in the U.K.?
If you think New Super Mario Bros. Wii is hard, try Super Mario Bros. 3.

Actually, I can't be on until 12:30. Sorry about that. Can you wait for about 30 minutes or so?
Edit: Nevermind. I'll be right there! Sorry for the confusion.
Edit: I was online, and you were online, but you weren't on friend battle. I waited for 10 minutes or so, but I had to go. Maybe we could arrange another time?
