Okami would've been a cool addition to the game.
So would've Dante, Pheonix Wright, Original Megaman, and SoulTaker.

If people buy it instead of pirate it (like they did with the Japanese version), maybe there could be. But I think its selling better than I expected.

I keep checking around hoping to see some real sales numbers, but besides vgchartz (meh), nothing yet. I hope it does well - I'm working on a couple of friends to go pick it up, but they're much too into whatever's going on in the Xbox world.

With the exception of getting caught in Yami's little drill hand at the beginning (my bad!), you can pretty much stay unharmed by jumping around and blocking, and keeping as far away as possible. If you think Yami is cheap, you may as well counter it as such. The difficulty was set to 5 stars, and damage was left at normal (I never changed any of the damage / hyper settings when playing - I prefer to keep damage and other settings as close to online matches as possible).

Also, playing this game definitely made me more interested in Tatsunoko. I don't know if you can get Hulu in the UK, but it has a few episodes of Gatchaman. They were alright, but they're in English - I was hoping for Japanese with subtitles.

You've got mad skills man. My problem is that the characters in my team (again, I decided to go with a random team and just happen to like them and feel they work well together) aren't good with long-range attacks (they aren't easy for me to pull off and they're both slow enough in execution/recovery that you're too exposed to attack) so I need to get up-close and personal which is dangerous against the first form, but not the second one since you can block everything. I didn't realise the magnetic-beam thing used by the 3rd form could be blocked, so that will make life a lot easier!

@Adamant: Thanks for the links, that's great, I do have one of those "play everything" slimline Philips DVD players that are not only super-cheap, but have component output, PAL progressive scan and a handset hack published on Amazon rather than the often glitch-prone chipped units you can buy.

It would be even better if there was an R4 source like Madman so I could get the full 576p resolution, but I'll import the Region 1 versions if I have to. Damn, that's a lot of DVDs -- what are there 10 collections of it? It's a bit confusing because it looks like there's multiple releases, some as standalone volumes and others that are collections of those volumes. If there's a guide that would help as I'd hate to make overlapping purchases by mistake. I think building a Godzilla DVD collection is going to take priority, but then this is next on the list!

I'll have to keep an eye out in Japan for some of this, I have to think you can get the original Tekkaman and Yatterman shows on DVD there, but it probably won't be subtitled -- could be good for learning spoken Japanese, though!

Amazon has a guide: http://www.amazon.com/gp/series/91478/ref=pd_serl_dvd?ie=UTF8...
Theres a bit over a 100 episodes of Gatchaman altogether. Most of Tatsunoko's series ran weekly for a year, with the really really popular ones (read: Gatchaman and Yatterman) were kept for another one.

Don't know about Tekkaman, but yes, Yatterman (and the original Casshern series) got some nice DVD boxes a couple years ago. Yatterman in particular isn't really hampered by a lack of subtitles, either - it's largely physical comedy, and what little plot there is can generally be picked up by the visuals. If you like Yatterman, make sure to look into the other Time Bokan series, too, they're all very similiar. Itadakiman is my favorite (largely due to it's heavy focus on the villain trio).

Supposedly it sold around 50K. (I'm not sure if that is the first week, month of January, etc.) I know that its selling better than No More Heroes 2, though, because I was keeping track of both at Walmart, and Tatsunoko sold out the last time I was there.

Since no store here is going to sell the game, it seems like I'll never play TvC. Was quite disappointed that no-one wants to sell it, guess I can't always be lucky.

@Adamant: Thanks again for the Tatsunoko DVD info!

I almost feel like I'm owning Yami now after beating it again with Tekkaman (Yatterman got clobbered), Yatterman (only one continue required) and then generated a new random pairing: Viewtiful Joe and Ryu (easy to see why people like them they both have really easy to perform special moves, though I think Viewtiful Joe's hyper attacks suck). Second playthrough I killed Yami with Viewtiful Joe -- no continue required!

Still no new characters unlocked which is extra lame, but I figure it won't be long. Once I start getting those done I'll feel like I can do some online play and slap some punks around old-school stylee.

Capcom is giving away a copy of Tatsunoko vs Capcom on their site, and all you have to do is leave a comment about a character you would like to see in TvC2. Pretty simple!

WooHoo! Sequel would be very nice indeed as I do feel this has captured the spirit of Street Fighter II moreso than the other games I've played in the series.

Glad to hear you say that Sean! This game has definitely gotten its hooks into me like few other games on the Wii has - and I agree, this game has a very classic feel to it.

Fun fact: I'm about an hour shy of playing TvC in less than a month the same amount I played Brawl over ~two years.

Also, I finally got above 50% win percentage in Ranked battles online - 48 wins and 45 losses - nothing too spectacular, but a treasured milestone for me. Since I've quit doing Ranked matches during the day, my win percentage has been steadily creeping up!
