What's all this talk about "levels?" I'm grossly out of touch with the Street Fighter series...
You have a combo level gauge at the bottom of the screen that fills up (as high as level 5) as you attack. You can execute super moves that do a lot of damage called Hyper Combos which use one full level from your gauge, or a (very powerful) Level 3 Hyper Combo which uses 3 levels. There are other moves that use the combo bar as well, but that's the sum of it.
Did anyone preorder with Gamestop and get the trading cards? They're selling for quite a bit on eBay. I didn't think they'd be worth that much to be honest, but it still wouldn't have changed my decision to buy through Amazon.

I guess I should have pre-ordered. If you look at the back of the cards, it lists their Level 3 Hyper Combo. So I'm taking notes on all the characters not specifically mentioned in the manual.

Updated the thread title to open more discussion on the game - maybe that will reduce the amount of new threads on the topic (not that I mind seeing all the love for TvC!).
I didn't mind the unlocking all the hidden characters nearly as much as I did in Brawl. Plowing through the Arcade mode all those times (which I left on standard difficulty/time) was good practice for online battles. And I'm actually enjoying seeing the endings, I never know what I can expect to see when beating it with a new character.

I pre-ordered it at GameStop and they actually gave me two packs of cards. I guess since I was the only person who pre-ordered the game there. I still haven't opened them yet. I got that special card that came in the latest issue of Nintendo Power Magazine too.

Same here. They gave me two packs since not many people selected to pick their preorders up in store and they had extras apparently. I haven't opened the cards either and probably will sell them.
I enjoyed unlocking characters in Brawl much more. At least in that game you were doing something different each time, not simply: "Do the same exact thing again, but with someone else. And again. And again." Fortunately playing on the lowest difficulty isn't too time consuming, but that's still 16 times I have to play through the same mode, a mode I don't even like, just so I can play any character I want in versus mode, which is the only mode I buy fighting games for.
But unlocking aside, the game is a blast. Online works wonderfully, and I find I like many more characters than I expected to.
By the way, this thread is going to be totally overshadowed by the Official Tatsunoku Vs. Capcom thread when it rolls around. Watch out.
