OK, something's wrong with my cartrige. After I put it back in my SNES for the 2nd time, the screen turned green, then when I finally got the game loading, all my data got erased!
Also, the wrecked ship is creepy. Do I go in the morph ball tunnel in the right-bottom of the hub room, or the one that keeps going down? And why doesn't the save station work?!
re:missiles - If you just casually pick them up, you'll have enough. I usually end up somewhere between 30 and 60, I think. If you run out in Mother Brain's chamber, I think you can leave the room, recharge your missiles, and come back without resetting progress in that room.
re: wrecked ship save station - You need to turn the power back on. There's a boss nearby. Pro tip: Don't use super missiles. Seriously.
Cool, I already have 95 missiles at the wrecked ship, so I'm set!
Actually I already beat Phantoon, but thanks. I found out that charged beam is best from an episode of Nintendo Week when they had a speedrunner giving pro-tips.
I just got the Gravity Suit; I feel like I'm on a roll. There's another key item (i.e. not energy tanks, missiles, super missiles, or power bombs, etc.) here though. I saw it, but I can't seem to reach it. Any pointers?
Also you know that part with the walking Chozo statue that takes you over the spikes and to the Gravity Suit? Well there's a morpball tunnel right by there and I went through it but all there is is an extremely narrow shaft. Do I seriously have to bomb-jump up the entire thing?

IIRC, you can't bombjump up it—there're speed-booster-blocks at the top. You have to shinespark up there.
What is a man? A miserable little pile of secrets!
Fun fact : there is an unused character left in the final code; a miniature Crocomire called Stoke... There are these smaller Kraids before you encounter Kraid itself, Nintendo probably wanted to do the same with the Crocomire...
Actually, Super Metroid isn't awesome, imho. I found it very boring wandering around looking for the next place to go... next upgrade to get... I did beat the game, and while it is very well made, it's just boring!

I believe the Gravity Suit is the only key item in the wrecked ship. There are tons of goodies in Maridia, though.
