Well, I'm not playing Super Metroid right now, because I don't want to ruin my Metroid appetite. I also don't currently have a Wii.
/me sobs

by the way, are you guys aware that you can go back and start the game again with all your weapons and items? if you're not scared of risking your save data, try it; it's easy and it works. [youtube:aK83i8BwpIU&feature=search]
i always wished you could start with the hyper beam and annihilate everything, but once you see just how strong the plasma beam is against the first bosses you'll be satisfied. (it makes the first ridley fight a lot of fun, too)
Oh, so we're discussing the Space-Time Beam and the Murder Beam now, are we? Anyway, I've played through this game five times now. My most recent completion time was 1:46, with 48% item completion (I fought Ridley with only 5 energy tanks, 1 reserve, no crystal flash, no murder beam, 15(?) super missiles).
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
Well dang. I mockballed, shinesparked, and murder-beamed my way through this and I still couldn't get under an hour. 1:15 is my best time now, 44% item completion (no X-Ray Visor or Grapple Beam).
what a bummer, were is that last Missle, I want to see 16-Bit Zero suit Samus for lulz.
and did any one try to Save those Easter eggs at the end, if you konw what I mean. and is it just me, or are there some Mario Bad guys in this game too. like Buzzy Beetles

The endings are based on time, not completion %!
There are a couple expansions you may have missed in Crateria, they are:
spoilers A missile expansion underneath Mother Brain's original container A power bomb or super missile expansion (don't recall which) to the right of the escape tower. /end spoilers
Unfortunately, if you saved in Tourian, you will be unable to get these last expansions. If you saved there, you are trapped.
god do i hate that. it happens every time i play any metroid.. i've gotten 100% in all of them so i know where they all are, i just lose track of one every time and have to go through the whole game again looking for it...
OK, something's wrong with my cartrige. After I put it back in my SNES for the 2nd time, the screen turned green, then when I finally got the game loading, all my data got erased! D: But I wasn't very far anyways, so I just got back to where I left off
