Thanks for the advice, I found the grav-suit and have now defeated Draygon.

Romulux: I came into the wrecked ship from beneath, through Maridia, and through some caverns full of crabs.

It shouldn't be possible to get through Maridia without the Gravity Suit. Especially not all the way from the noob tube to the wrecked ship.

Nice NEG. The good news for me is that I took my copy of Zero Mission in to GameStop a few days ago, they cleaned it, and it works fine now. I just beat Kraid and can truthfully say it's even better than Super Metroid.

It looks like Zero Mission is quite a bit different than the original. I've never played Zero Mission, but it looks like it's a bit easier, what with the Plasma Beam, Charge Beam, Space Jump, Gravity Suit, etc.

While the NES Metroid is good, I don't think it's better than Super Metroid. Are there charge stations in Zero Mission? Because there are definitely none of those in the original.

Like save stations? Yes. If you mean energy recharge stations, no, but in morphball form you can recharge by rolling onto a Chozo statue's hand.

Yes, I'm looking at a gameplay video now and I don't really see how Zero Mission is considered a remake.
It's very, very different from the NES Metroid.

I see. Yeah, some people say it's a remake (Nintendo Power) while others prefer re-imagining (IGN), but I think everyone agrees it's way better than the original. It even comes on the cartridge as a bonus.

I would say not better, but different, not really to be compared even though it's a retelling of the original story. I like both games very much, but my fondest memories are with the original. Still an extremely atmospheric game, very very dark...

@90's Gamer I was just saying all the reviews agree about it. Also, my DS Lite was dropped with Zero Mission in it and now it freezes and erased all my data. I'll probably never play it again.
I'm really behind in SM for Other M release now, but BIT.TRIPs RUNNER and BEAT are just too darn good!

Oh, dang, I better complete this game before Other M. Right now I am in Maridia, right after the part with the Wrecked Ship. And, for the recond, this is my first play-through.

This is a brilliant game. It is certainly my favorite Metroid game. The only thing I didn't like about it was the fact that if you saved just before the final boss you could not return to the main playing area. I did that on my first play through.
