Topic: Strange The Conduit Online glitches

Two weird glitches occured when I was playing The Conduit's online multiplayer tonight.
Glitch 1:I was playing online with Chrono Cross, and he claimed there were two of me. I was thinking, "What are you talking about?'' Strangely, I noticed that Chrono Cross was getting killed by somebody invisible. It turned out that the game made a duplicate of my character.
Glitch 2:This glitch was even weirder. I joined a match with 10-12 people. When the match started, my character was staring up into the sky with a rocket laucher rotating around him. But, my character would NOT move. I finally turned my Wii off.

So, what do you think about these glitches?

glitch 2 happened to me once.

I have A LOT of games, if you want to play something, just email me jangonov&#...

Dunno, all I get is the usual lag symptoms of jumpy movement, low framerate (serious WTF) and people falling through the floor (at least on my end, they usually pop back on the ground a moment later)...

I've seen lag, but not these problems though I only tried one online game; it reminded me too much of what I didn't like about multiplayer FPS games on my Mac/PC. Hopefully friend-based ones will be more enjoyable!

I just had half a dozen world-wide team reapers, and it all worked smoothly and was great. Had a break, went back in, and loaded into the level with the EXACT same thing Glitch 2 describes. What is wrong with this damn game!!!

Glitch 2 has happened to me twice.
Glitch 1, well similar things like that have happened to me, although I've been on the wrong end.

High Voltage was so proud of their online component, but I think they're in over their heads when it comes to programming for online play. They seemed to have missed the mark. This is where I think reviewers should be able to revise their review once the game is released into the wild. These problems simply didn't happen to those who had advanced copies and played on capable servers.

It certainly makes you appreciate a bit more the games that don't have these problems. MOH:H2 is an average online shooter, but didn't have THESE problems. COD:WAW is a stellar online shooter. It's glitches are few and far between.

I hate to say bad things about them, because The Conduit was HVS's love-letter to the Wii and Wii fans out there. But, development of such a game probably should have been left in more capable hands.

I've played several hours online and the worst thing I've had happen is some lag pre-4.1E update. Nothing game-breaking for me has ever happened and I'm enjoying lag-free play for the past week.

Are people's issues being seen in private and public games? Just curious.

I've actually kept a tab on some of the games 'behaviors' that I've encountered so far. The most common for me is after the 'authenticating' players stage, I get dropped into a live match as a spectator. Trouble is, I can only see a wall and a gun which twitches around a bit.
I think this should really be the 'view' of another player for me to spectate until the end of the game where I should then be able to play next. However I never get to this stage as when the games eventually ends and I see myself in the list of players I just go round and round in this cycle. To be honest this has occurred seven times so far since having the game from release day in the UK. The strange thing is after re-booting my Wii everything is fine - it really is - some times a bit of lag but that is to be expected as your match quality is balanced with the player with the poorest connection speed, and there is nearly always someone who has a poor connection.
I still have fun though as I only own a Wii so having COD and MOH heroes, The Conduit was a must buy for me to have fun with my over forties buddies - Many of them live over the pond and we still get good quality games.
Oopps guys - sorry its getting a bit wordy.
Hang in there.

Actually the first glitch you were talking about was were I was playing a Free-for-all match with you and Tyler but you guys couldn't interact what-so-ever. So it was technically 2 on 1. Unfair and unreal.

Just for you.

I think you should get Water Warfare.

Chatham suggested yesterday that this might have been implemented to try and stop hackers. I don't know how successful it is, but then I can't say I've seen any since I mostly play Private games (hence only having a bronze rating still).

That is odd, because I did not see Tyler online at the time. It could have been Tyler's connection that caused the glitch. Nintendo needs to relase something called a patch to fix these glitches. But I know that will never happen.

@pixelman-I already bought Water Warfare.

I rented it when it first came out, noticed the lag and problems and hoped that they would get sorted out. Thsi past weekend I borrowed a friends copy and noticed the problems are even worse. I wonder if the HVS servers just really suck or the problems are in the game itself?

... that would explain a few things Sean. I would love to know what the consensus is back at HVS HQ. I hope they can build on what they started out to do as 'The Grinder' looks good. I also notice that games like COD use 'off the shelf' online components from the likes of ID - prehaps they could 'buy in' next time.
