Topic: So why the name change for Icarian on wiiware?

Nyx quest doesn't have the same ring to it. Was Icarian just too similar to Kid Icarus? Were they afraid people would be confused and think Icarian was related?

I'm sure that's what most people will assume.
I'm also sure people will assume that this means Nintendo is making a Kid Icarus, but if anything, I personally believe NoA is just the most anal arm of the Nintendo company and anything sounding remotely like one of their trademarks/IPs is a no go.

I heard the same decision-making entity was pushing for Boobs Game instead of Sexy Poker.

It's sorta strange that some people have been spreading rumors around recently that a new Kid Icarus was in the works and suddenly this Wiiware game comes along that seems kinda similar. It's like the developers of Icarian were trying to make a substitute for kid Icarus to make up for not having the real thing from Nintendo. I don't see why Kid Icarus is so popular anyway. Two games and people were so thrilled they want more? I thought the first one sucked. The GB sequel was alright but nothing thrilling.

Some Spanish company holding the trademark to "Ikariam". Nintendo would probably have told them much earlier.

apparently 'Ikariam' is an MMOG set in a place resembling classical Greece. I can see why they'd want the name changed to avoid problems. :/
