Isn't it already on the VC (the Genesis version)?

Thanks given to Xkhaoz for that one avatar.

Not as far as I know. This could also be the Arcade version, but the Genesis version is probably more likely.

@V8 Ninja

I don't believe so.

@Seven_Force

And NintendoLife has now prepared a game page for it, so chances are that this will indeed be appearing.

Twitter is a good place to throw your nonsense.

@WariosWoods - yeah, but don't trust what those Nintendo Life people put up.

I'll bet I know why it's been put on the PEGI. It's that simple!

Sounds interesting. I would have prefered the arcade version but it is still good to see that it might be coming to the Virtual Console soon.

I don't see why you'd consider a NL page to be further confirmation. They're just going by the ratings themselves.

But hey, the timing's right. What better way to capitalize on memorialize the man's passing?

Come on, friends,

StarBoy91

@CoolAdam - I suspected that was the case! Makes perfect sense!

Exactly - the other day I tagged Dawn of Discovery as Aliens, Cartoons, Life Sim. We have no idea what we're doing 90% of the time with game pages.

Yeah, this is probably the case. The value of the Genesis version shot up to like, $180 or so, after his death.

Yes, but I've never even heard of PEGI, nor do I have any perspective on how likely its ratings are to materialize into VC offerings. I expect that NintendoLife has a pretty good knowledge of these things, so the page confirmed for me that the PEGI rating is something likely to be legitimate.

PEGI is the European equivalent of the ESRB, just so you know.

@wario
Ah, well, there are only a few rating systems to go by. I assumed everyone here who follows VC closely would be familiar with them by now. There's ESRB (US), PEGI (EU), and OFLC (AU). I am pretty sure that covers it, unless UK has its own that I've forgotten.

As for the likelihood of ratings to be converted into actual VC offerings, no one knows -- and unfortunately I believe that includes NL. Ratings are the only indicators we have to go by though, so it's better than nothing. NL making a page for it doesn't reflect on the likelihood of release, just means it's been rated (except in the unusual case that a VC game is announced in advance by the publisher or Nintendo -- which as we've seen, is often an indication of when the game will NOT come out, haha).

I'm assuming the Genesis, arcade and Master System versions play nothing like each other. If thats so then Sega should put out all three versions quickly before the license expires.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

I thought getting Star Wars games on the Virtual Console was awesome, but Sega actually managing to possibly get the game on the Virtual Console?

Time to celebrate!

I told you guys this game would come to the Virtual Console. Every Micheal Jackson fan should know this. I told people of this on the official Billie Jean video with 42 million views. They're going to be so excited!

@BassX0: The Sega Genesis version and Sega Master System versions are similar, except that the Sega Genesis obviously has a better execution of the game soundtrack and looks better., so I wouldn't mind if Sega skipped the SMS version.

I apoligze for double posting, but urgent news! The game's PEGI rating has been removed.

From what I read, PEGI intends to only publish ratings for games that have actually been released.
So, it doesn't sound like anything to worry about yet.

I do hope it's a VCA release; if so I expect to see it in Japan first; possibly next month?
