What if you woke up one morning, logged onto NL and found the first post to be SMG3 confirmed. What would your thoughts be? Personally, I think Nintendo should stop the Galaxy series. The first two are terrific, but I feel the third one just wouldnt add much to the formula. Would you like it? I would still buy it, but I hope Nintendo splits off from it, and starts a different series. Any thoughts?

I love Galaxy 1 and 2, they are some great games...but I want something different on the next mario outing. At the end of Galaxy 2 my thoughts ere okay that game was good, but it was a lot of the same...I'm not sure I could go through another Galaxy. Give me Super Mario...something.

Although imo Galaxy one and two both stand among the best that gaming has to offer I have to say: let's remember and keep replaying the Galaxy games for what they are and let Nintendo do what they do best: reinvent, surprise and amaze.

Mostly it'll be an intergalactic mustache grooming sim--it uses the vitality sensor to make sure you haven't died of boredom while waggling the Wiimote to trim the Italystache. I'm pretty sure you have to keep perfect balance on the Balance Board while shouting obscenities into the Wiispeak...you get a 3-page book of concept art for your preorder.

And they said they were going to simplify the controller. They have more adapters and perpetuals and anyone ever.

I've already thought of all the new Galaxies, Power-ups, and elements in my doodles in my free-time. It would take a LONG time to list them all, though.
Hopefully if they do make a new one they will put more details into galaxies and stick with given concepts for longer periods of time. Galaxy 2 felt like it was made for a toddler with a 10-second attention span.

I'd be so happy. But what would the story be? My guess is Aliens (not joking). Just think about it. In SMG1, there was a space ship which helped abduct Peach and Bowser WASN'T in it. And then in SMG2, in that one Galaxy there were those aliens watching you (it was like freezeburn galaxy or something like that).

Although the first two are two of the best games ever, I would rather nintendo were more inventive with the next mario game. It's pokemons job to be unoriginal and uninventive not Mario.
But Seriously, Don't make another Super Mario Galaxy Nintendo. The last one didn't even have a Story......and not much have change but only adding Yoshi.

This would be so awesome on the 3DS.
I think Nintendo has to think of something new if they want good sales, but seeing as SMG2 is my third-favorite game of all time I'd settle for this.
