Topic: Silent Hill sales so far

For a game with no hype. Silent Hill: Shattered memories has seemingly sold over 100,000 copies. This high quality title may have legs afterall.

PS. I bought it and am currently working my way to a possible ending 2.

Yeah, link? It's only been out for a few weeks, I'd be really surprised if those numbers were accurate.

Thats great. Not a game I am interested in but I am always happy to hear a Wii game does well.

Yeah, VGChartz. I've heard they weren't the most reliable in the world, but hey, at least it's something.

That's a game that is on my list of games to buy.

Also, after visiting VGChartz, I was saddened to see Cursed Mountain only sold 90,000 copies worldwide That is a great game that more people need to play.

I own Cursed Mountain. I bought it the same time I bought Silent Hill as I was sort of on a horror game high. Played a bit of CM and it is quite enjoyable, though it's clear it was on a tight budget. It is very atmospheric and climbing the mountain gives you a nice uneasy feeling. I would've preferred real-time or even CG over those barely animated stills however.

Crystal bearers sold 42K in it's first week, but I think that's actually really good because it came out in the middle of a week, and I don't know if Christmas Day and boxing day were counted. lol So it might actually be day one sales.

Good to hear. I like that a truly mature game is getting some love from peoples money other than mine. Such a good game. Granted, it's no million seller like COD:MW: Reflex, but those are nice numbers. I'd like to try Cursed Mountain. I really wish I would've picked it up instead of Tenchu, but live and learn.

I've been surprised how well Silent Hill seems to be keeping up with FFCC:CB according to VGChartz. It would be nice to see a game like Silent Hill succeed with no marketing than something more obvious like the Final Fantasy name. Though I do hope sells pick up strongly soon for both of them before the low sell whine-fest starts.

I will definately buy Silent Hill when I get some more cash, it may be a while though.

I know it's not the same, but if this game does well, I'd love to see a new Eternal Darkness game. I always felt it seemed closer to Silent Hill than a game like Resident Evil, even thought anytime I hear a store clerk try to explain ED they compare it to RE.

I dunno, Eternal Darkness is kind of hard to compare to anything. But there are rumors floating around that Silicon Knights are working on a sequal.
