If you like classic Contras from the NES and SNES, you are going to love it. If you like arcade-like gameplay (easy to learn, hard to defeat), you're going to love it. I have it and is an awesome game. But I grew up with Contras. So recommending it to somebody younger is hard to tell.
I've never played a Contra game, and I also am wondering If I should'll get it or not. Although, hard games frustrate me until I master them, which doesn't take too long.
Took me about 3 days to beat 1 LEVEL of Mega Man 9.
Why do astronauts backtrack? They forgot the Space Jump Boots.
Contra Rebirth isn't all that hard anyway, it's generous with checkpoints so you can master the parts of the game that you have trouble with instead of wasting your time replaying old hats.
It's not as good as Contra III on the SNES, but I like it much. It is a lil bit too easy... I never got a gameover playing on easy or normal. I never ever beaten Contra III on easy... The levels are not as good as the levels on Contra III. Except of the driving level. I was expecting a lil bit more... Where was the intense brain fight??? That was the best part of Contra III.
I haven't played Contra I or II, so I can't compare with them.
I love Contra |||, but I thought it was too hard because you had limited game overs and on Contra Rebirth, you have unlimited game overs, so I probably like Contra Rebirth a bit better.
