I keep hearing how great Endless Ocean 2 will be,but I have never played the original. So I don't even know what the games are about. Are they games where you explore the ocean like a sandbox game? Is the ocean big or is it small? Is there anything else you do beside exploring underwater? Is it boring or is it super fun?
It's trance like. A form of relaxation. You can just swim about feeding and recording fishies, or you can dive down in to the dark and go exploring caves and ruins and stuff. The map was huge in the last one, but you could only explore it in smaller chunks, just move the boat to change your diving area. It's got a day/night cycle, you get emails, you can befriend dolphin diving partners, who help sniff out treasures and new species.
I'm really looking forward to the sequel as they have addressed any issues i had. It looks like the sea is alot busier, and that you'll be require to do tasks a bit more diverse than taking photos (which was still great filling your album full of sweet shots).
If you enjoy a spot of 'peace and quiet' from time to time, then you will love this. If you play fps's on 360 for half the day, don't go near it.
I'm curious to if you can actually go far in this new game.
In the first game you had a limit to so far you go, which meant if you wanted to explore more area you had to move the boat around, which is kinda annoying. If they make the limited area larger, and I mean such larger, or just go unrealistic and allow me to go unlimited, then Endless Ocean 2 will be an awesome experience.
The first one completely passed me by unknown, however i am quite interested in buying the second instalment, 1 hour of Madworld then 1 hour of this = Equilibrium
The first ever review I wrote for Nintendo Life was about Endless Ocean - you can read it here.
Personally I can't wait for the sequel - as Machu says, it's a tremendously relaxing and soothing game that's also really enjoyable. It's given me some of my most memorable moments in gaming, and for a game about touching fish, that's really remarkable.
So I've been re-discovering EO of late, and I had forgotten how great it is. I've lost quite a few hours the last week feeding and recording fishies n stuff in my lil book, I've tagged a ride on a Blue Whale too, AND I found a sunken WW2 plane. Action packed I tells ya.
Really looking forward to the 2nd one, which has Wii-Speak support and from the looks of it, you can shoot stuff at sharks. Win! Which other 5 people on this site are looking forward to Endless Ocean 2?
I will buy the sequel the day it releases - I don't care what people say!
Ben Cartwright: You and your education. Adam Cartwright: Education is progress! Now what have you got against it? Ben Cartwright: I don't have anything against education - as long as it doesn't interfere with your thinking!
I'd recommend it to anyone, so long as you are looking for something to relax with and learn a bit. Plus it is really immersive, so much to see and do, but nothing to kill. I'm not sure if Chuck would like it.
My friends sis has it and we played it and i didnt like it. he hated it and threw it across the room behind a painting and i dont think that particular copy will ever work again

God loves you
Uhh. This game is tense. I mean there's nothing that can do you harm.... but diving into the ship graveyard or the dark rift, surrounded by sharks, whales, giant octopus' and other ugly beasts that could freak you out from all sides, you know what I mean....
most of the time just some rocks in the flashlight scared me.
the story i quite short in the first one, but there is plenty more to do after,, btw has anyone cataloged all the fish in the first game :L number 2 u can get harmed by sharks and stuff which i think will put some people off if thay liked the origanal
DJ HERO gonna be ace cant wait till crimbo take life by the balls
I'm trying I tell ya, just met The White Mother last night and it was an amazing experience. I know what you mean about it being tense, I was navigating through Mermaids Grotto so as to get a fish and double check for treasure, at points I had to remind myself to breathe. Back to the 100% thing, I discovered some treasure that WASN'T glistening obviously like the main bits do. Which means it's gonna take forever to find it all! Good job I absolutely love swimming about.
Got a new dolphin friend by the way, I named him Killa.
I didn't know people were put-off by getting hurt by sharks. I welcome the change. I thought it was stupid in the original that dangerous fish didn't do anything to you.
