I was watching Supersize vs. Superskinny on E4+1 last night and what do I see but an ad for UNO on WiiWare! Completely bizarre. Seems to have been paid for by Gameloft and mentions going on the Wii Shop to buy it. I'm guessing Gameloft figures they'll make a raft of cash off of it if they're going for paid TV advertising for a game that costs under a fiver.
Anyone else spot this one elsewhere? I figure this is the kind of thing Nintendo needs to get Wii owners into the Wii Shop. Now when is Nintendo going to do the same?
Just that add you saw might boost the WiiWare sales on a whole. It will get more people looking and wondering what Wii Shop is.(if they don't already know) I know people that don't?
Nothing came up Googling for it, either. I am glad to hear a WiiWare game's getting TV time, regardless of who's paying for it. It's great to see the Shop Channel advertisement on the rise. Speaking of which, there's a full-page ad for the Shop Channel in the NSMBW Player's Guide, suggesting people download classic Mario games. I'm not sure how useful that ad will really be, but I think it's cool it's there nonetheless.
My Backloggery Updated sporadically. Got my important online ID's on there, anyway. :P

I have misjudged thee. Please tell me it was her choice.
Great to hear about WiiWare ad's though. Nintendo should do a medley, showcasing all the best ones with brief instructions as to where to find them. Actually, why the fudge haven't they done that already. 0_o
Wow. I'm glad to hear Gameloft is putting effort into advertising the Wii Shop channel... Now only if Nintendo would.
I bet less then half of the Wii owners in the world have accessed the shop. Imagine the amount of games that would come in if at least half those owners bought stuff off WiiWare.
It's about time. Now we need some of those ads over here in the States.
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.
Actually, why the fudge haven't they done that already.
Because they're really, REALLY slow with the concept of how to handle online gaming in general. At least they're picking up with the advertising noticably, with stuff on the ad papers that come with new games about the Shop Channel, the ad I mentioned in my previous post, and this TV ad. The bonus points card for NSMBW in Canada seems like a great marketing tactic, too. Why they didn't do that anywhere else is beyond me.
Here in Austria (it's a TV station from Germany though) they once had an commercial for DSi telling you to get on the DSi shop and get titles like Wario Ware: Snapped it's not this one but it was similar http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKDFQunfBTk
