So the Wii controls are really good? I've had this game for both the GC and the PS2, but I've heard the waggle has some problems. I was thinking of picking it up again and selling my old copies if it offers a better experience. If you beat it a few times, you can get the pinstripe suit and the tommy gun, while ashley gets the suit of armor--which pretty much makes her invincible.
@Roopa132, Get it - like I did - only make sure you actually play it and not leave it sitting around for a year. Oh, and in case you haven't put it together from these posts, prepare to be hooked.
@Magi, Don't give up. Once you've turned the power on, run like hell to the door and get your grenades and shotgun ready. Once the door opens tear ass down the hall and - hmmm... what are these LN2 doing here? That's all I'll say.
@Machu, I'm with ya, man! I was just thinking last night that no matter how awesome this game is, carrying over my arsenal to the next playthrough is gonna rock.
@SuperZelda, I feel sorry for you if you've never been compelled by something you think is so awesome, you really don't have a choice but to do it.
@LTG, Bingo! One of those "yup... there's nothing too creepy about that" moments.
@Chicken, I can't point fingers. I was nearly terrified at some points in the game. Keep in mind that some of these were during 10+ hour marathons, so the psycho-immersion factor was off the charts - which made it all the worse. Just do it, man.
@Sushie, the controls are excellent, and after some awkward moments they will become second nature after about 15 minutes.
One of my favourite games on GC.Absolutely amazin' game. I tried the remakes that were on GC but hated the laborious control scheme but when RE4 came out it was a revelation.Still not given the Wii version a whirl yet but it's on my list. This is one game I won't mind playing through again.
4 is so awesome! ive beaten it 4 times and got both the infinite launcher and tommy gun. 5 is awesome to! the guns i have infinite ammo for are the 1st pistol, the ak-74, the uzi, magnum (the silver one with 5000 power, unlocked by fully upgrading one of the magnums), the rocket launcher, and thats it. Oh and i got the triple barrel one handed shotty, the triple shot pistol, the bow, and the giant machine gun (forgot wat it was called). the one where wen to have it in your inventory during gameplay you have some giant box on your back
I had never played RE4 until the Wii version and I loved it. I must have played through the main game 3 times in a row when I first got it. It's so much fun going through the game with gangster Leon and his Chicago Typewriter with infinite ammo. The best part is when you no longer have to worry about saving Ashley once she gets the knight armor. The Ada missions were awesome as well. I was crushed when I heard RE5 wasn't coming to the Wii. I loved RE4 so much I didn't want to miss out on RE5 so I got a PS3. The controls were great but it would have been fun using the Wii controls.

RE4 for PS2/GC was a good game. RE4 for the Wii was a Great game, enough said.
There he goes, Firkraag. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die. - My VGscore
I'm not far at all, and I've had it for like two months. I just rescued Ashley...but the game is way too scary for me to play unless I'm feeling particularly strong-willed.
I know, I'm a wimp...it's a fun game, but way too damn creepy.
It's alright chicken. The game does get a bit intense at times. Just wait until you get to the castle--the cheesy dialogue will lighten the mood a little bit, though the chanting cultists may actually be worse than the villagers in some respects. I thought the Ada missions were even more intense than the original game in some respects, especially the last boss.
A question regarding resi darkside chronicles, why didnt they keep the third person perspective that resi 4 had? i think that the 3rd person shooting view was way better than this new boring lightgun view

10 zombie types, they are slow, if you run out of ammo - run away find ammo - shoot a few.....
Oh 5 bunched together, need a grenade, press start, screw around and arm a grenade, press start back in game, throw grenade, boom! ok, need a gun, push start, arm shotgun......
I have to say it is overrated. The story is very cheesy and is devoid of logic.
But yeah - get over the cookie cutter zombies, the lack of scariness, the poor storytelling and voice acting, and the clumbsy menu navigation, well, it has some nice atmosphere at least. I liked the game. Liked, not loved. TP is far better.
IGN: The holiday Wii lineup looks thin for the hardcore crowd. We see this. Gamers see this. What, if anything, is Nintendo planning to address it?

Ummmm...because it's a sequel to Umbrella Chronicles and not Res. Evil 4...the proper 3rd person view is the direct sequel, Res. Evil 5.

LOL...what kind of logic where you looking for!? It's a game with zombies! That's illogical from the get go! I've never thought Res. Evil to be particularly scary but this game is great. Much better than TP. I've dug holes my back yard that are deeper than TP's story.

Hah - I believe you about your holes - but lets face it - they were deeper than RE4's story as well.
The game has a clunky interface, lets not sugar coat it. Compared even to an ancient N64 game by name of Ocarina of Time - there you have a sword button, and context sensitive action button and 3 sub weapons or items on the ready - at all times. RE4 is a joke compared to that...
Its not acceptable for a 6th generation game that became a 7th generation retool to be bested in the control department by a 5th generation game. This game is an '8', tops.

Oh and the AI is not very current gen as well - it is horrible. If there were only 15 zombies in the whole game instead of hundreds of zombies thayt all looked and acted the same - maybe they could put their brains together (lol, get it?) and come up with some respectable AI....
Bottom line, Resident Evil on PS blew me away, this game did not. Went to the well once to often, I wager.
Plus Leon or whoever is a real wuss - who relates to him anyhow?
