No kidding. There it was for the past year, never played past the first 5 minutes, just sitting in its case looking all normal, waiting to spring its trap on me while I foolishly neglected it in favor of lesser titles. That's right, I'm looking at you, Conduit - you know I love you with your glorious control scheme, but still...
30+ hours... and I can't even say I want them back. This game is NOT to be missed.
I still haven't beaten this game... I'm at the part after that giant statue chases you and then you have to go way up this tower thingy. There is a boss on the other side of the door...sssshhhh...! How far are you anyway?

There he goes, Firkraag. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die. - My VGscore
I'm past that point, let's put it that way. I don't want to spoil aything about the game's content or story - both of which are excessively unnerving.
It didn't help that I'm playing on a huge TV, and in full 5.1 surround-sound - plus there were outrageous real-life thunderstorms going on outside my windows these past few nights. There were several moments where I was like, "yup... there's nothing too creepy about that" as my heart nearly burst from my chest.
EXPERIENCE MORE.... Arcade-quality graphics, awesome sound, "turbo-charged" game play, exciting TurboChip games... It's the incredible Turbo Genesis 64 Entertainment SuperSystem Experience. There's more fun, more challenge, and more excitment ready for you today!
I told you you had given up too early last time it was brought up. Best game for Wii so far hands down.
No sir, it was someone else you told in that thread last week. But I did read it, and I did take heart and give the game a second go. Thanks though! Now then, where shall I send you the bill for my sleeping meds?

Oh, right. My memory is always playing small tricks on me here and there.

it's alright....I gotta admit it was a lot of fun the first time through...it just didn't age well what with the retarded-Ashley syndrome. 5 just absolutely destroyed it imo.

I can't believe anyone could stop playing through RE4 before reaching the end! It's so addictive and I remember when I originally bought it on the GameCube, I played it for as long as I could until I needed sleep - and then I went to sleep thinking about what could be around the next corner.
I actually re-bought the Wii version for the motion control and the Ada chapters (it was only £20). Did you know you can actually use a GameCube pad with it? I had no idea - it's not mentioned on the box and couldn't find an option for it but I forgot to recharge my Wii-mote for ages once and the battery died during a game of RE4. Out of frustration I grabbed the GameCube and Leon moved, he had a laser sight for his gun and the button symbols changed from Wii ones to GameCube ones.
I think the Wii controls are by far the best, but anyone who now reviewed this game and marked it down because of them actually overlooked the fact they're not a requirement.
I only just played RE4 for the first time this year (back in July). I beat it within 2 weeks or more, played a few hours a day. BRILLIANT game. Every Wii owner must get it!
It's an awesome game! I got stuck on the section where you're in some kind of sewer and you have to stay alive until the elevator comes back online. There's this black monster hanging all over the place trying to get you and you have to do these button combos to stay alive. (This is RE4, right?)
@fatlittlenick: hey sexy why do blokes use lady avatar's, that freaks me out! 0_o
And yeah RE4, that damn game has stolen about a month of my life. Wait till you get to the end Vendetta. Mercenary mode is one the most addictive bonuses ever, I loved perfecting the scoring system with awesome kill combo's. I think I'm on my fourth run through on expert, all my weapons are maxed out and i just run through blasé as you like popping heads and shepherding folk together so as to get maximum goo from a single grenade, ahahahahaha. I love that ****ing game, MASSIVE b******s!
Man, that game was awesome. It's actually part of the reason I was let down by Resident Evil 5. RE 4 was such a great title, and while RE 5 was good (and actually quite the looker) it didn't live up to the standard.

@Vendetta-Yeah This game is great. Been awhile since I beat it though. I've still got to go back sometime and play the Ada Wong extra. Did you get to a guy with really creepy breathing noise?
@Machu- Yeah I played that Mercenary mode quite a bit. Awsome. Still need to go back and unlock that one weapon. Then I've got to figure if I want to use it on the harder mode someday.
I'm not far at all, and I've had it for like two months. I just rescued Ashley...but the game is way too scary for me to play unless I'm feeling particularly strong-willed.
I know, I'm a wimp...it's a fun game, but way too damn creepy.

You're correct, that is 4...I would put the way to defeat him before the elevator comes but I've played and beaten the game so many times that I can't remember if you need to go through the first play through to do the method.
BTW, I have no idea why people were let down by 5. 4 wasn't scary, neither is 5. Both are action games and I was more into the emotional story 5 told regarding a certain returning character than I was in 4. I've played through and defeated both games equally which is about 5-6 play throughs each...in fact, I've never been back to 4 since playing 5. Oh, might as well kill this before it starts, graphics have nothing to do with it.
@Chicken Brutus- Heh, heh. COME ON!! That makes it better! Wouldn't that be freaky if someone started a chainsaw outside your house while you were playing this?
Edit- You could play with someone else there or take turns. I'd help you get through it if I was there.
