My son has just earned himself the full package of Guitar Hero World Tour. I thought it was a good idea for him to get that game as I had seen that the game had songs as dlc. Now when I check the dlc song list at guitarhero.com the new songs seem only compatible with BH and GH5. Are they for real??? has support for GHWT already been dropped??
Could have posted the question at guitarhero.com but the forum there didn´t seem too alive and I will probably get an equally good answer here.
There's a fairly large library of DLC, but most of it blows. Which pretty much describes Activision's DLC to begin with. I have downloaded a few songs, but I have since given up on finding anything interesting. On the bright side, there are some pretty decent studio songs available for free, even if the sound grates worse than a MIDI file played on an FM synthesizer. (Which come to think of it, is probably what they're doing. Meh.)
I love the GH series and I think Activision has been a pretty good stewart, but they really need to catch up on the DLC front. And figure out how Wave Table Synthesis works. This is 2009 for goodness sake!
So when was the release date for the last dlc song for GHWT? The gh site lists some new songs but it also indicates that they are only compatible with GH5 and BH. As I can see on it the last song compatible with GHWT was Dueling Banjos released on 20 August 2009. With release dates for GHWT as of 26th Oct 2008 (USA) and 7th Nov 2008 (UK/EU) it seem Activision drops support for games well within a year. If that´s true then that´s NOT ok.
