Yeah, I got that far with the motion controls...now I need to try again with NES style. I've been occupied with some other games though (it's been a really good month or so for releases).
Disco Kid, Chicken? I'm at soda popinski and its too freaking hard. I have to hit the button before he makes his move, from memory.
Soda Popinski has to be memorized. Has to be. Everytime you counter attack without getting hit, you can get another hit in when he's unconcious. For example, the first time dodge an attack you can only counter-hit twice. However, if you avoid his attacks, the next time you counter-attack you'll able to hit him three times, etc. TKOing him in Round 1 is the only way I can beat him. You just have to practice a LOT.
Should I make an official Punch-Out help thread? That would be nice, don't you think?

Mr Sandman. Title Defense. WTF. I've watched YouTube videos and I pretty much understand how to dodge all of his moves (although I'm completely helpless when it comes to actually doing it) but I still don't understand one thing - when he does his dumb little "boo" taunt and then uppercut combo, is there a way of telling which side the first uppercut will come from?
Edit: Turns out it doesn't matter, you can dodge in either direction for both of them. Edit 2: Beat him!
How do people find threads that are almost three years old?
QUEEN OF SASS
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
I've beaten Title defense, and i think it's safe to say that Punch-Out!! Wii is the toughest Punch-Out!! there is...Although, I've yet to finish Super Punch-Out!!, the Bruiser brothers keep woopin my mega butt, but i blame that on the wonky confusing character animations and how the game works in general. super Punch-Out!! can be confusing and overly complicated at times for it's own good! It doesn't have the same rythem or style as the original or Wii remake.
Anyways! You think Sandman is tough in Title defense? Wait until you get a load of the next Character you face afterwards....The only opponent i could never beat, although he's considered a 'special' character.
And even though Punch-Out!! has the greatest gameplay(Title Defense makes things even more devilish and interesting) i feel that the NES original has more charm. I totaly MISS Mario being the referee....What a bone headed stupid decision to get rid of him....I mean make way for forgettable & generic standard referee man. And the music? I honestly didn't like the Jazzy orchestrated-like renditions...OR the games presentation. Starting out in those brown lousy beginner boxing rings was unappealing. But eh, those are just a few negatives i have, otherwise it's one of the best on the wii.
Here's hoping the 3DS sequal brings back mario as the referee, the music being chip-tune based and having Mike Tyson return as the final Boss! Oh and i want to see the return of the Narcisist Prince!
That was the referee on the original Arcade version.
