I hope so IlikeVideoGames. It's a muchly needed hit for us and it'll mean that I'll finally receive a real paycheque!! I'm excited. The wife keeps nagging at me to get a real job, with real money instead of working from home...women!
I can honestly say that we're putting in as much blood, sweat and tears as possible in order to maximise the experience to the player. Kudos to the coders, the engine's amazing for something running on Wii hardware!
You've almost got me sold, sir. Great job trolling the forums (in a nice way). I'm surprised more small devs aren't trying this more often. As for getting my monies, I shall wait for the reviews before purchasing, and hopefully Nintendo Life will be kind
I think the website they made for the game even looks great. It seems like these fellows are some hard workers and have a lot of talent artistically at the same time.
Thanks chaps! I don't troll, I lurk:) But I do like to post in other threads, I like this place:)
Not all PR/Community managers are my way in thinking and sadly, they don't embrace the ethos that I do. Communicating with fans/would be fans is by far the most important role I have:)
Cheers for the kind comments IlikeVideoGames! I love the styling of our site!
Sorry for the short post, it's so cold. I currently have no electricity, no net and no heating. I'm surviving on my laptop's battery and sneaking onto an unsecure network!

Agreed. There's a lot of games that won't so much as even put up a trailer. Honestly I cannot see what the point is in putting so much effort into a game if you're not going to make even the most minimal effort to market it.
Given the complaining of the big boys it seems that even decades into the video game thing, proper marketing (and by that I don't necessarily mean just advertising, but figuring out who your potential audience is in the first place and then ensuring you have a product that will appeal to them) remains an elusive concept...
Yeah it went off at some mad hour of the morning (2-3AM perhaps) and then finally back on 13hrs later. I was so glad to do the school run today, being as that the car has heaters!! I was happy as a pig in...you know the rest:)

Absolutely. My personal background is an ICT administrator. I moved to be with my then girlie, who then had my son. I decided to stay home with him, whilst she finished her second degree (she's doing her third now) and I've not looked back. All the time Alfie was sleeping inbetween feeds etc, I thought to myself I could be a games journo and I made it happen:) After a few years of doing reviews etc, I thought it'd be interesting to see how the guys on the other side of the fence work, so I tried my hand at that too. After being ripped off by a few companies for money, I won't name names, I stumbled upon Bjorn and Legendo and in all seriousness, he's the best boss I've ever had. Yeah it's not all plain sailing but what job is?
We're alike in mind and passion, between us I think we can make Legendo something even more special. As well as doing the community thing and PR-ing for them, I'm always keen to give advice, feedback and guidance when and where I can on say for example the Pearl Harbor theme. There was a bit that really didn't fit, I couldn't place why but it just didn't feel right. Had a chat with Bjorn, he seemed to agree with me and we had it amended. It's quite a nice little score!
I'd love to work for a few more companies and do what I do for them, as I do Legendo. The real feedback comes from the consumer, not the press (although obviously they do have an effect on sales!!).

Well there is a growing need for (personally my experience only comes as a student in Advertising, I have no real experience) more social interacting from brands to consumers, and following you around I think you are doing a really good job. Obviously for companies like Legendo, you can't afford advertising for the most part, you probably couldn't afford a skin on even this site which I assumed is around 10k for a month or something, I dunno. But even big companies in general are seeing this. Maybe a banner or leaderboards but even that can get pricey. A lot of marketers I listen to state that ad budgets should shrink a little and that money go to pay for a brand ambassadors so to speak that "troll" the forums and try to spur interest as well as interaction with potential buyers in a positive manner.
That level of interaction with a brand and consumer is really important now a days and REALLY REALLY important for research. You really learn who your fans actually are and characteristics that they have that'll, if you ever did buy ads, really help to reach them, or obviously make a product they they will want to buy. Obviously advertising is still nice, or even marketing efforts like promotion (like giving away copies of the game which I'm PRETTY sure you can escape a lot of counties legal crap because you'd be giving the games as a gift. )
Anyways, what I'm saying is that you're, whether you're aware of it are not, are in a very new form and emerging form of marketing, not PR.. Well PR is marketing, but I think it's more...Gah anyways, the experience you have here could probably go a long way in getting you another or an additional job like what you're doing for Legendo, I mean you did get your Facebook site up to a thousand fans, which for a company no one has really heard of and a game no one knows about... Is quite a feat.
My only criticism, though, you've heard me say this already, I think to make this work even better for you, is to release more info at a more frequent pace. Doesn't have to be revealing. Maybe more concept art, or place models, wallpapers or a TRAILER , but at a decent pace, once a week or something. It would keep hype up, and mainly top of mind awareness, because though your efforts are good, hearing you just say follow us on Twitter or join our Facebook group does get a bit tiring when there's no information for like..2-4 weeks. I'm sure you could convince Legendo decision makers this. lol The game must be coming out soon, and releasing press releases and information like this goes a long when when you have next to no money to pay for ads.
Phew, I sound like I know what I"m talking about. lol On a side note, what happened to your Apple App Store efforts. I have Spooky Spirits by Innogiant Ltd. Did it not sell? Cause I think it would probably be pretty easy to port over Three Musketeers and even Peal Harbor to the App Store. Since the development kits are free and all.
Oh sweet, glad to hear Classic Controller support's in there. Are you guys adding online multiplayer in there? If not, is that a possibility for either of the future episodes?
@Pixelman MP is going to be in another ep. It's something I've been demanding and stamping my feet over!
@Hardy83 Cheers bud for the pointers. Regarding what do, believe me I moan alot about lack of assets, updates etc. The problem is, where we're all so far apart it's tricky all being able to get together at the same time. Regarding Spooky, I'm unsure of numbers. I know it's not set the world ablaze though!
Well I was talking about this the other day. With the engine established, which realistically is the biggest hurdle, it should be relatively "quick". I don't know if I'm allowed to say or not, but let's put it this way...it shouldn't be more than say 3-4months.
