I honestly can't think of a game I would call underrated. I can think of many that are unnecessarily bashed, and many games that are underrated. Even games that are constantly being called 'underrated,' to the point they almost seem overrated.
They may not be overrated, but I did not enjoy the SMG games as much as many people here did. They're very good games, though, so I'm not sure I can call them "overrated."
DeBlob - Dunno how people can stand this game, it's not even the flick motion jumping I have a problem with either, each level seems to go on and on and on! I spent and hour in one level because they don't give you any save point's, they should have broken up all the things to do into separate levels like Mario Galaxy.
Muramasa The Demon Blade, very pretty game but REALLY dull.
No More Hero's - Ugly, crappy over world, boring missions inbetween boss fights and I didn't particularly like the combat either.
Kirby's Epic Yarn. imo which you shouldn't trust since I'm only in World 2.
Just wait, the levels get more fun and playing 2 players is a lot of fun (unless your partner is your sucky younger sister who you have to carry around because she can't run and jump properly, haha). I loved the variety of transformations and the different atmosphere and play style each world presented.
It's Kirby for **** sake, why are you expecting a challenge? When was the last time that whole serries was even remotely challenging? Just relax and enjoy the ride.

Yeah Air Ride.
Get it because you said "enjoy the ride" when Kirby has a game called Kirby Air Ride? lololol

I found Super Star Ultra pretty tough. Probably because of The Final Arena though.
It just hasn't seem to have given me a challenge. Maybe because I'm used to how DKCR difficulty cranked up really fast or something.
Just because a game isn't giving you a challenge doesn't mean it's bad or overrated. Every review on the net states that it's not about the difficulty, it's about the design and style. It's totally different than DKCR, you can't expect the same kind of gameplay going into it.

The game is fairly difficult in some points but yeah, Kirby games were never known for being challenging, but I loved how the design allowed you to think differently about how to approach certain situations. Plus, it's nice to play a game that's just enjoyable and doesn't frustrate you by making you play an area over and over again which happened to me while playing Sonic Colors, which is why I went ahead and got Kirby's Epic Yarn.
While it is all a question of taste naturally i have to say i really like World of Goo (all its pieces and presentation fit together very well) and De Blob. Sometimes i'm just an easygoing gamer looking for a relaxing experience. And while i think De Blob could have been a lot better i still enjoyed it so much that i had to 100% it. It just gave me a big sense of achievement when i painted all of the cities and could laugh about the cute slapstick humour in some of the cutscenes.
But in terms of of overrated, i can say that i didn't really enjoy LostWinds as much as the reviews would suggest. I mean yeah, it is very well done in terms of graphics and controls but the gameplay just seemed kind of shallow and without a real direction or challenge. In terms of overhyped there are a few more examples like The Conduit and Sonic Unleashed.

DKCR is about Design, Style AND Gameplay... Kirby is only about the visuals, bland
Kirby is about charm, pure & simple fun, nothing bland about it.
Remember that the statements made in this thread are opinion, not fact. Insults won't change a person's mind, especially not when it's already made up. :/

While I don't disagree that DKCR has design, style and (great) gameplay in spades, I absolutely think Epic Yarn has those three down pat as well! Design and style are more to the forefront in that game than in most other games this generation.

Yeah, and to be honest I think I had a lot more "wow!" moments with Epic Yarn than I did with DKCR, from a level standpoint. Both are very different games, though, so I'm not going to say one is better than the other.

With all due respect I don't think we played the same games. DKCR levels were all very bland, if you played the originals then these were all basically updated versions of those, and if it was about style I didn't see it because the new softer, cleaner, toony style is inferior to that of old.
Everything you just listed applies more to Kirby's Epic Yarn than it does to DCKR. KEY has Design, Style, and Gameplay to spare.
