I just saw a package with the Nyko wand + a nunchuck accesory at 800 pesos (around 70 dls I guess) which is less expensive than a stand alone wii remote which is around 900 pesos (almost 80 dls).
But I am not sure if is worth buying I mean is it compatible with the WM+ accesory? does it works with all games? Has anyone tried it? would you recommend it?
As a rule I steer clear of 3rd-party controllers, especially ones requiring the accuracy of the Wiimote. I have 3 completely different 3rd-party Gamecube controllers. Not one of them works properly. The only one that did work fine randomly died after about 2 months. I'd spend a little extra on a first-party one. Then at least you know it'll work just fine and be compatible with everything.
Whenever I use a third party controller I just end up blaming it for everything I do wrong even if it's perfectly functional, so I have to buy official ones now
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
I like the different colour buttons but apart from that it looks plain ugly, also the Nunchuck doesn't look very ergonomic. From my experience it's always better to shell out the little extra for official controllers.
Also when playing a 2 (or more) player game the person using the unofficial controller can always blame their defeat on the pad. When I used to play Mario Kart Double Dash regularly with friends we had 3 official GC pads and 1 3rd party pad that wasn't very good, It ended up being labelled the "Dogger pad" as chances of victory were drastically reduced as power sliding and boosting round corners was near impossible.
Well the Nyko wand has had some great reviews on the web and there also bringing out a 'lightgun' shell for it. Having said that i always buy 1st party stuff these days,I've been burned too many times with s*****y 3rd party stuff. Here's some reviews for it http://uk.gear.ign.com/articles/977/977980p1.html http://www.crunchgear.com/2009/06/12/review-nyko-wand-for-the-wii/ http://gamesblog.ugo.com/games/nyko-wand-controller-review

i find it bulky and hideous but i know why it was made like that the company didn't want to get sued again by nintendo for coping an controller
It is a controller for their system, it has to look that way. They have been making 3rd party accessories for years, Nintendo allows it.
nintendo sued nyko over the wireless nunchuk saying"it broke the copyright being nearly the same design as theirs" after that nyko started to change the designs more
