I like it when the big names out there have good things to say about the competition. Doesn't seem to happen often, though. I remember Reggie saying he thought LBP looked good, too. Of course, he's also saying he expects to outperform MW2, but the tone in context sounds more like two buddies trying to beat each other in a sprint across the schoolyard... even if one is carrying a gun and infrared goggles while the other is wearing a penguin suit.

As for his comments, he's stretching it for sure, but, eventual sales of NSMBW will eclipse those of MW2. As for whether it'll do it this Christmas, I doubt, especially with all the hype/controversy surrounding MW2.

You should also take into consideration that It probaly won't sell well in the UK(maybe some other countries, too). since activision sucks so much, they raised the price there.

OK, if it's before Christmas then I don't know... Probably... But in its total lifetime... Mario games have legs, especially things that tickles people's nostalgia nerve, so I feel pretty certain that it'll beat MW2, not only on one console, but it's total lifetime sales in due time.
Obviously it will outsell MW2 on at least one platform. If 50% of Wii owners buy NSMBW, then 100% of PS3 owners and 100% of X360 owners would need to buy MW2 for NSMBW to not beat MW2 on at least one of the two systems.
And I'm pretty sure given a 3 month timeframe, NSMBW will beat the sales of MW2 on each system. Not combined, but I think NSMBW will outsell CODMW2X360 and will outsell CODMW2PS3.

Modern Warfare 2 had a Unlimited Budget to make the game they have always wanted and its very obvious that they did. This games looks absolutely incredible. I might pick it up next year sometime but I dont think NSMB Wii will outsell it. I dont think there is a chance of it at all to be honest.
