Any of you guys still read this or subscribe to it? I've read it since it came out but I've been subscribed to it the past couple of years. I'm still really impressed with it. I'm never big on review scores, so I ignore those, but as far as overall content in the magazines, I'm happy they are still around. I was really impressed with their 200th issue, when it went back to the history of Nintendo games and showed all different kinds of information on older games.

Any of you guys read it still? What do you think about it?

Yeah, in fact my February issue just came today.

Make that yesterday.

Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.

Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

Yes, me and my brother got our issue two days ago? I enjoy some of the Community and Pulse stuff, though I already know most of the news thanks to NL.

I use to subscribe to it since it first came out. In fact I still have the first issue with the clay Mario and Wart on the cover. I stopped subscribing back in the N64 days and havent subbed since.

Personally with the internet now I dont see a point to magazines. I can get all the tips I need from sites like GameFaqs and Gamewinners and I can get reviews from places like IGN, Gamespot and of course Nintendo Life. Also I dont have to wait a month for new material.

Amazon offered it to me for $5 for the year, and I couldn't say no to that.

I subscribe to it, but don't read it much. Kinda got boring lately, probably a combination of the new peoples in the magazine, and the fact that I get in the internetz lots more now. So the news is so 5 weeks ago

I subscribe to it too. I like the magazine overall, they give more in-depth coverage than IGN or some other game sites that only have quick articles with tons of spelling errors. The only thing I hate about NP is their reviews. I almost always disagree with the scores (really? a 9.0 for NSMBWii and an 8.5 for DKCR, which clearly had way more effort put into it?), but other than that I look forward to getting it every month, even when there's boring ones like the one that came out this month.

I am a proud subscriber of Nintendo Power. It is a hilarious magazine! I especially like their Power Up and Review sections. I do miss their video game strategies, though, but that's what the Internet is for!

I'm back (for the moment)!

Those aren't the main features of NP, anymore (although they do have reviews and are the only other place besides NL that reviews every Nintendo downloadable game). The real meat of the magazine is the previews, many of which contain a lot of new information. Other smaller features like the Pulse, Community, Developer Interviews, and Retro Playback (look back at a retro game) help fill it out from there.

I've been subscribing for about 10 years now. Still have all of my back issues.

My new favorite thing to do is to see how the NP staffers rate games in comparison to how we rate them (especially when it's a game that I wrote the review for)

Yes, I just got the Pokemon issue in the mail today. I've actually been in the pulse section twice. The point of it is not for up to the minute gaming news, it's for the editors' opinions, the funny commentary, and the stuff that can only be found in the magazine. They do have the occasional exclusive reveals as well. Sometimes I see stuff online that came from NP.

Kyloctopus

I just read at the store until I'm satisfied with what i saw. I don't bother buying it

I get it too. I agree about it being about the features and not the news. Still kinda disappointed about the switch to Future US. I also don't care about Prima players guide. I wish it were still in-house.

I still subscribe
It's a really nice magazine. It's not great if you're looking for hard-hitting journalism or thought-provoking editorials, but if you're looking for some fun, laid-back Nintendo-centric goodness then I'd recommend it.

Nintendo power is my favorite magazine. I don't subscribe to it because i like paying more so that i can get the glossy cover.
so, so glossy.

The subscription is glossy and there is more art and less writing on the cover. Sometime the subscription has a different cover.

Look at issue 260.

Dude, I know. The subscribers got glossy covers for a little while and then they went back to the covers that smudge if you hold them too long.

As subscribers, we also used to get a renewal gift which we don't get anymore and newsstand copies often come packaged with stuff (like wiimote skins) that subscribers don't get. That's no way to treat your devoted subscriber.

Past few subscriber magazines I've had - have glossy covers. That episode 260 was the best one in a long long time. It was an amazing article.
