@Sean: Yeah, the update has always looks so handy and downright, well-done. Although NoA has denied it, it's pretty fair game that we'd see it come here. After all, they did deny us getting the Nintendo Channel to begin with when Japan first got it and look where we are. I'm secretly really really hoping for that update.

Given the "we don't care about the VC" part of the report that included reference to the Nintendo Channel, I wouldn't put much stock in that. It is a big overhaul so I could see them needing to ensure the servers are ready for the higher-resolution video delivery before launching it elsewhere.
I thought something similar. We'll have to wait and see. Nintendo has been fantastic as of late with regards to announcements. Also, notice that they claimed there were no plans to bring Black Wii's over to NA or to have new Wii Remote colours and look what happened. I wouldn't put faith in the fact that they're denying that this update isn't planned. I mean, why not just admit it in this case? I guess they think it's better for us to be surprised.
With the latest update of the Internet Channel does this mean that eventualy there will be an update for the Nintendo Channel?
I don't think so, we are lucky if we get a new digest video every week, in Japan that's completely normal. And besides 2 or 3 videos (and 2 DS demo's), there is nothing new. If you compare that to Japan...

I've got the UK one (I had the Dutch one but I hate playing games in that language), Wii Fit!!!!, Mario Kart Wii tournament and Cooking Guide. So, yeah I know were you're talking about.
