Topic: Next Zelda plot

also, why not a Zelda-based sumo game? TP had a little bit in it, and NL just did a review of a sumo game for wiiware or something...

What characters do you want in the next zelda?

Anyone but Link.

The Zora are my favorite LoZ race, so I'd like to see a prominent Zora character that has a pair of living parents and isn't a member of the ruling family somehow.

Gorons are my favorite. Can't say I'd want a whole game about them though.

I liked the Zoras in Ocarina. They were hideous and creepy in TP.

I like pretty much all the zelda characters.
What I think would make a cool zelda game, would to have link have sidekicks!
Just like in the first two paper marios, how mario gets help from people he meets,
Link could have goron, zoras, and some other people as sidekicks!

@Kizzi: perhaps a Zelda appreciator might not say that [anyone but link] outright, but I've certainly been dancing around the idea in my replies to this thread. I'd like to see some of the other LoZ peoples get a chance to shine, even if it's just a side-story or a gaiden.

I could definitely go for a Zora game. Link has to be getting tired.

But I was mainly joking. It'd be interesting to see someone other than Link -- I would welcome this with enthusiasm -- but not necessary.

I wouldn't mind that either if they changed the title of the game to like "Legend of Zelda the story of..."
But I was more referring to the main series. And you would think most people who enjoy zelda would want link to be a part of it, but who knows?

i'm sure they could come up with something where Link is doing his thing, but the characters who would normally be running around in the background are the actual main protagonists for a particular title, like in Sonic and Knuckles, SMW2: Yoshi's Island, or Super Princess Peach (I know there are more/better examples out there where a normally non-main character becomes playable, especially since S&K was only a separate release because they couldn't finish it all at once as planned, but i'm drawing a blank at the moment lol). i think there's a segment of people out there who would be interested in playing a game that did not solely focus on Link saving the day.

A chapters-based game where you alternate characters could be fun, like in Mother 3, allowing Link to be playable but also giving other characters a chance to shine.

@theblackdragon: If nintendo did do that, I could see them making it a trilogy or something.
But I would want the games to be released sooner then.

The only problem I see of using other characters is lack of abilities like items and attacks?

Didn't Suikoden III have a system where you could play the game through from the viewpoint of different characters? that would be pretty awesome, IMO.

Did no one like my sidekick idea because i think that could work really well.
Having a group of like 4 characters roaming around like Knights of the Old republic and being able to switch from character to character would be awesome. That would allow for multiplayer and even online maybe.
Also opens the door for extra side games??
