Four player Co-op! For the first time ever in a 2-D Mario platformer! Characters include: Mario, Luigi, Yellow Toad and Blue Toad.

The Super Guide Mode - Players who die more than 8 times are given the choice for the game to show them how to complete the particular part the player is stuck on. The player can regain control at any time by pressing any button. It is said that those who don't use the super guide throughout their playthrough will be granted a prize
Quick Save - Players can save at any time during a level and return to it at a later date

Eight worlds and over 80 levels
Three collectable coins in each level used to unlock extra's
"The game will follow the traditional storyline of Princess Peach getting kidnapped by Bowser. When Mario, Luigi, Blue Toad, and Yellow Toad are celebrating Princess Peach's birthday in her castle, a large cake reels in. Immediately Bowser Jr. and the Koopalings pop out and throw the cake on top of Peach, trapping her. The cake is loaded onto Bowser's airship and takes off, with the Mario brothers and the Toads giving chase. The Toads in the castle then grant them access to the Propeller and Penguin Suits via a cannon."
@Liam: If you'd like to rehost those pictures on your own space (photobucket, imageshack, whatever) and then put them back into the post, that's fine. I edited them into links for you because I don't think GameSpot would appreciate us here on NL sapping their bandwidth with a super-image-heavy post here on our forums. I'd also suggest you make them smaller, just in case we have anyone with slow internet connections or small monitor resolutions, because they kinda distracted from all the great info you put together for us. I keep forgetting that I can pick this up tomorrow. Honestly, I feel like I've bought too many games lately to justify (dang Best Buy and their buy 2 get 1 right after I'd just bought something else as well), and I usually would not buy anything else until I at least find time to finish a couple more games, but I need this one.
Friends are coming to visit very soon, so it's right on time. I'll have to pick it up tomorrow, play through it a bit to get a feel for things, then prepare for some lovely mayhem when we do multiplayer. Can't wait.

Very nice thread. Can't wait to wake up bright and early tomorrow so I can pick up my copy! (Gamespot's having an early opening). I'm going to have a party with some friends so we can check out the Co-op. Sooo excited for this game!

Ah, I didn't know Prosody weighed in on this issue, but I've always been in agreement that "official" threads created by users don't make a whole lot of sense. Simply changing it to UNofficial works nicely, as both the OP's intentions and the lack of real endorsement are clear.
