No, every Metroid game so far has been 5 missiles per upgrade. Though I think I remember Hard mode in Zero Mission reduced that to 2 per upgrade. Which is still more than this
from what the hands on testers said your missiles are much more powerful than before, so they may be limiting them more because of that. which is good, because i usually never use missiles in the other metroids when the charged beams are so much stronger.

Finally, the first console Metroid game I actually am excited about since the SNES days. Sorry, but the Prime games were MINO's in my opinion, they were just a sci-fi FPS.
I am the one you despise. I am he who says what you really deep down know but are affraid to admit. I am the Anti-Fanboy, the crusader of truth in a world built on your lies.

Actually if you played the Primes, they felt more of an adventure game in first person perspective rather than a sci-fi shooter since a lot of the time you were walking and solving puzzles, and then blast some galactic scum.
Back on topic: This is quite possibly my most anticipated game! GOTY baby!

@romulux: That does bear some resemblance to Phantoon now that I see the side-by-side comparison. Awesome...

auto aim is not such a bad thing. in the old metroids you never aimed much anyway, you just kind hammered the laser button to obliterate what was in front of you while running. the times you needed diagonal shots were fewer and auto aim seems to cover them pretty well. so overall, running and gunning should feel just like it did in super metroid, with a little added tracking in your shots. sounds win-win.
the stationary first person mode may still seem lame, but remember that that's exactly how zelda's first person mode works and no one has ever complained about that (with the internet, i'm sure someone has. i just haven't heard it). the point of the 1st person view is to get a better look at your surroundings and place some well aimed shots when you need to, and you can get that done while standing in place better than you can while moving.
also the game is not as on rails as it may have seemed. the rainy forest segment shows samus running on what appears to be a set path, only to scan a beacon and change her direction. i imagine that segment will have you searching out markers to find your way, meaning that even with a somewhat linear 2D perspective exploration in a non linear way is still possible. they're really finding extremely creative ways to tap all of the potential of the already creative control system they've got set up, and we've barely even seen anything yet.
I really think they are going to be doing a LOT of flashbacks to Super Metroid in this game. We know the beginning's cinematrics are the re-done Mother Brain fight. When we saw Ridley, and that squid boss in the trailer, it doesn't mean we are necessarily going to fight them, but we may also remember the encounter with them in Super Metroid.
Just amazing... if the controls are as responsive as they look in that video, this may be Game of the Year.
