Topic: New characters/franchises/series vs. Returning characters/franchises/series

Which would you rather have, putting quality of a game aside for a moment (since we would all want to play a good game regardless of whether the characters are brand new or not)?

I'd prefer to see sequels and spin-offs to existing long time favorite series. Or even bringing a series out of obscurity by creating a new game. I feel comfortable with familarity. Thats not to say I won't try something new in regards to games but I do like to have some idea of what to expect.

I want to see some new games. We already know that old franchises are going to have new games anyway.

Depends on the character. There's no point in bringing a character back that needs a total overhaul to work in a modern game (think Kid Icarus).

Yep. I'd like to see a new Kid Icarus game too. Whats a little major overhaul? People know the Kid Icarus series, have strong desires for a new Kid Icarus game and probably wouldn't mind an overhaul as long as it works.

Depends for me too. I'd mostly prefer new games though.. unless of course it's SEGA-related.

Depends of how memorabe it is. For exampe, I would tak TWEWY over any FF game.

I'd rather see some new IPs. I'm really getting tired of all these sequels. It would also be great to see more dead franchises (like Kid Icarus) get revivals.

My point is that it wouldn't be Kid Icarus except for the name and some cameos. They could replace the main character with a bird, call it something else and noone would know it was a Kid Icarus game.
