Topic: NeoGeo games that allow saves

Hi, I've recently learned that some(?) NeoGeo games allow saves. For example Metal slug: If you lose all 4 credits on level 3, you can save, boot it up again and level 3 begins with 4 continues. I think that is pretty cool because you don't need to beat the game in one sitting.

Can someone tell me which other NeoGeo games on the VC allow saves?

You mean besides the suspend mode feature in all VC games? I know Fatal Fury Special (and probably the other Fatal Fury games) does.

Thanks for mentioning that title. I've heard that the suspend mode save does not work for NeoGeo games.
Now we know Metal Slug and Fatal Fury Special. Are there any other titles beside these two?

Yes, Top Hunter allows you to save your progress.

Did NeoGeo back in the day ever make an RPG or RPG type of game?

This is not really related to the current topic, but to answer quickly: As far as the true Neo Geo goes, there are no RPGs. The Neo Geo games are arcade games and arcade RPGs are not very common. The only RPG that I know of is "Shinsetsu Samurai Spirits Bushidō Retsuden" (also known as "Samurai Shodown RPG" or "Samurai Spirits RPG" I think). But this is for the Neo Geo CD system and of course not on the VC.

Yes, I believe that was the only RPG on NeoGeo, cart or CD.
But as to NeoGeo CD not on VC, isn't Ironclad a CD-exclusive? That's on VC.

^ According to GameFAQs and Wikipedia, Ironcload is indeed a CD game. Apparently Neo Geo CD games exist on the VC. At least one. But still no RPG.

Ironclad is a CD game, but many people claim the Ironclad we have on the VC is an unreleased MVS rom. They point out that the soundtrack from the VC game is different from the CD version.

Speaking of Ironclad, can anyone confirm if the screen is really THIS dark in the VC game? I suppose it could just be how this guy recorded it, but he has other VC videos that are not dark like this. I'd like to download this game, but not if they can't get the brightness level the way it should be.

well, 3 things i have to say about iron clad.
1. @brooks83 it`s more like the second youtube clip.
2 ironclad saves your progress after your 4 credits are done.
3 ironclad is so worth getting on the vc if you don`t hace it already.
