Yeah. Would be nice! Looks like Japans got a bunch already. I can't believe they already have 25 of these (I didn't even realize it). I'm a little p*ssed about that. We haven't got anywhere near that. Especially us in the US.

I wonder why Pacman and Ms Pacman haven't been announced yet?

This is ridiculous! We Americans only have a few Virtual Console Arcade games, but Japan has enough games to last a lifetime. Talk about HUGE regional differences.

Quite Impressive I must say. I'm betting that all these arcade games that Namco has announced & released in the JPN VC will also be released on the PAL VCs & the NA VC

I'm guessing the next shipment will focus on more modern arcade games like Tekken, Ridge Racer, The Outfoxies, Time Crisis, Final Furlong, & Mr. Driller for example.

Come on Namco! If you'd release these games on the western VCs, then we would never need another Namco Museum ever again!

Also, Does anyone else think that Ms. Pac-Man should have been put in the US/EU/AU launch of the Virtual Console Arcade? That game would be on the top 20 VC sales listings!

They've been mixing up the dates for awhile now; a few of the games that have been released are from the 90s.

This is my instant buy list from the comments thread for this news item:

Baraduke (a.k.a. Alien Sector)
Baraduke 2 (a.k.a Bakutotsu Kijuutei)
Bosconian
Galaga
Grobda
Marchen Maze
New Rally X
Rolling Thunder 2 (The Mega Drive port is really good, but I'm a purist)
Rompers
Tank Force (superior sequel to Tank Battalion)
Toy Pop

I've got Dig Dug and Galaxian in Namco Museum remix, so I'm happy to skip the standalone release of those two.

With regard to Pac-Man and other notables like Pole Position I expect they're wanting to maintain interest in future VCA releases. I think it was announced they're working on a new Pac-Man game for the 30th anniversary, so I expect that to include emulations of the arcade Pac-Man games to date -- either that or they'll time the VCA release to coincide with the new disc as a promotional thing.

One thing is certain is that Namco's been around a long time and they can easily do a few more releases like this. I'm still looking forward to seeing:

King and Balloon
Metro Cross
Warp & Warp
Pac-Man
Ms. Pac-Man
Pac-Man Jr.
Pac-Man Plus
Pac-Land
Blast Off
Gun Bullet (Point Blank)
Aqua Rush (if possible to emulate with a good framerate -- my iBook G4 cannot manage it with MAME)

This actually pleases me, since this opens the possibility of these being released in other regions.

I am hoping for the genuine VCA versions of Pac-man(Pac-man, Ms. Pac-man, and Super Pacman). I like the NES version of Pac-man but the colors look a little washed out and it feels like the game runs slower than the arcade. Of course the advantage is the NES version has no borders.

I agree with Sean Aaron the Genesis version of Rolling Thunder 2 is a very good port, but I would love to try the arcade version since I have never seen or played it before. Rally X and New Rally X would be nice additions to the VCA. Pretty addictive games if you ask me.

I prefer New Rally X due to the more accessible difficulty curve so it's good to see that's the first one on offer.

My dream is that the new 30th anniversary Pac-Man game will have a raft of Pac-Man games on it:

Pac-Man
Pac-Man Plus
Ms. Pac-Man
Jr. Pac-Man
Pac-Land
Pac & Pal
Super Pac-Man
Pac-Mania
Pac Attack

an emulated Baby Pac-Man would be even more awesome (though more for the pinball than the rubbish Pac-Man port in the video part), but that would be a lot more work than is probably worthwhile. The Pac-Man hack with the Popeye head would also be excellent.

Of course I expect that this won't come to pass, but the 30th anniversary of the grand yellow dot is almost certainly going to see a boatload of Pac-Man games coming to the VCA.
