Crazy pricing, but I have to admit its been really fun so far just started chapter 3, had 2800 points saved for the game thinking it would be enough to get most of the DLC, wasn't even close.
I wouldn't expect many people to buy the whole package in one go, but on the other hand it does give you something to spend those spare wii points on, since often after buying a new game there is sometimes a few left over, so I imagine I'll get everything eventually, could take a while.
You expect me to buy all the DLC for the review? I'm reviewing the 1000-point game.
Ah, OK, that'll have to do then Maybe others will post what the DLC are about in the comments, then.
I'm not made of money, y'see, and us NLife reviewers have to pay for the games ourselves. The DLC will most likely function as named though. I may try one or two pieces all the same.
I really don't think it's a big deal. I didn't want the DLC for My Life as a King and I don't want the DLC for My Life as a Darklord so I won't be buying any of it. I don't need extra levels or any of that bs. The basic $10 package seems like a great deal and I'll be happy with that.
The DLC in My Life as a King has kept me playing since it's release. Obviously not constantly, but when I do load it up it's nice to have a new goal to aim towards. In fact I have yet to open up the luxury houses despite downloading them a few weeks back. As mentioned elsewhere, DLC is entirely optional and I'm all for it, but sometimes you do wonder if Square Enix really needs to get so carried away with their pricing.
...You don't have to pay the full amount. Its just giving you a wide variety of options to pick and choose which DLC is most preferable to you if any at all.
DLC is also financially necessary to recuperate the costs that went into creating the game not just so the producers get more profit from the DLC. If there was no DLC available then the basic cost of the game would be much more than 1000 points so that Square would make their money back spent on producing it. DLC allows the game to be 1000 points.
If this game was designed without any optional DLC, to be sold for 1000 points then it would be a much poorer and shorter game to keep under the budget allowed in producing it.
Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.
I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!
Where does DLC 'go', by the way, if you catch my meaning? Is it added into the main game file in system memory and/or SD card, is it added to save file, or does it appear as a new file entirely? Just curious...
@ Chicken I'm stuck at Wily, too. Can't beat his second form, usually can't beat his first one either. I gave up long ago, but I still enjoy playing Hero, Proto Man, or the Special Stage on occasion, and I have an unnatural love for Endless mode.
As for Hero, the levels are mostly untouched (or maybe completely, I forget). But the enemy and hazard placement is meant to mess with your expectations, so if there is a place that feels very natural to jump, there'll probably be an enemy that pops out right as you do so, causing you to fall on spikes. Very cheap, but it amuses me to no end. I think you do take more damage, too, but it's not that simple. And it's not just extra enemies; the placement of enemies is well thought out.
Not sure if it's already in there, coz you do download something, it'll state it's block-size. And I'm going completely off memory here, so someone tell me if I'm wrong.
I had thought of maybe trying the game out, but if the DLC is relevant to get the full game experience, I'll skip it -- I am not going to pay that much money for a single game but in exceptional cases, and this is not one of them. I'll be waiting for the eventual review to hear out how much the DLC adds to the game.

lol. Well it should be worth noting that other games that have DLC should've been reviewed with DLC in mind but in this case, an exception can definitely be made. But if there are additional levels, then it may be worth getting to see how the gameplay differs.
DLC content will be saved in an extra file on the Wii memory. You can transfer it to SD Card, but you can only play with DLC when it's on your Wii memory.
For example Darklord and King have
the game file
the save file
the DLC file (this file grows as you download more content)
If you have to download a lot then you really are crap at games. The DLC is designed to help poor players progress further into the game when they wouldn't be able to do so without it. If you're good at the game then the DLC is just a waste, you won't need the extra NP at all and the more powerful monsters would just solely be cosmetic for you if you can make do with the regular monsters.

i see what you mean but not all dlc is like that in MLaaK the dlc is really just fot getting extra houses it doeent help you that much it just makes you town less empty
but for MLaaDL i can see myself getting the stuff after i beat it so i can hav some cool monsters
If DLC is actually more like an expansion pack, like GTA 4: The Lost and the Damned for example, its worthwile. If it's just milking out the costumer like this, you're being ripped off.
