If you want a full My Life as a Darklord game with 100% all content, be prepared to pay some serious extra money, as Darklord is the most expensive WiiWare game to to date, even excelling most retail games.
FINAL FANTASY - CRYSTAL CHRONICLES: MY LIFE AS A DARKLORD 1000 Wii Points for the game + 5700 Wii Points for the Pay&Play DLC = 6700 Wii Points total.
This is the Pay&Play DLC from day one, but it's only the first batch.
Who cares about floors and costumes? The items probably don't matter that much either. DLC plans like this are common on other consoles, and they aren't intended as being necessary for the "complete game." Most of it is usually mere decoration, and I don't understand why anyone would waste money on it, but whatever floats your boat.
If I got the game, I'd probably just get the extra levels -- maybe the cheap monsters if I really like the game, but I don't really know how the game works.
Don't get me wrong, it is a huge rip-off, and people who dream up these DLC schemes should be ashamed of their greedy selves, but you also don't have to buy into the scheme. Just get the base game and restrain yourself from the frills. If people didn't give in, Square would eventually realize that it's not a good idea, but people buy it up, so DLC is here to stay.

The sad thing is that the Costumes and everything else you buy have a function in the game, not just cosmetic. The dresses grants you more bonuses and stat-boosts etc. I guess they saw that the clothes in "Life as a King" never sold since it just was cosmetic.
Ick, I assumed it was the same as the previous game, that is annoying. I still say it's hugely unnecessary though. They wouldn't make the game require stat boosts. I can understand paying for extra game (in this case, additional levels) since that gives you more to enjoy, but not paying for stat boosts since all that does is shorten the experience you already own by allowing you to perform better than you normally could.
Bubble Bobble / Puzzle Bobble did the DLC thing right. You get the complete game, front to back, for one set cost. If you choose to pay the upgrade (which is darn cheap), you can double or triple the experience of the game with new levels.
That's fair. Buying a complete game, and then having the option to buy discounted, full-length level packs. I'm cool with that.
Mega Man 9, I have mixed feelings about. Paying for the endless level? That's fair. Paying for additional levels of difficulty? Chicken says boo-urns to that one.
that does sould like the case lol incomeing that game is horrible i bought it just to have a nother twol player wii ware game i regret that coice with a passion Does NL give you wii points?
Mega Man 9's DLC adds up to less than the full game, which is already very cheap. Nothing costs more than 200 points, and it's all very functional. Endless is not only fair but a steal. The difficulty levels aren't like normal difficulty levels. If you play Hero, it's the difference between Lost Levels and SMB1. I haven't gotten Super Hero because I can only beat one level on Hero so far, but I can only imagine. It'd probably be worth it in a funny, masochistic way, like playing I Wanna Be the Guy.
Admittedly, MM9 is an almost religious experience for me, so I'm not without bias, but I thought the DLC was perfect: Cheap, functional, and not in overbearing quantities.

This I didn't know. And yeah, that's a big difference. I was thinking it'd be like the difference between the modes in Mega Man 2: you take more damage, enemies take more hits, and a few other minor differences. This sounds a lot better, and more worthy of the points.
Have you beaten MM9? Try as I like, I can never get any further than Wily himself, in his first form. By the time I get that far (his damned castle is such an ordeal!) I'm bushed to the point that I can't play much longer. Part of that is my own fault, as I don't want to buy anything from the store to help...I want to tough it out...but jeez oh man, anyone who can beat that game gets my respect.
I wonder if anyone--ever--will get the "no damage" achievement...
lol looks like im gona need 8 more points cards when this comes out in NA (lol just jking but im not saying im not gona get it he11 ive bought their $40 action figures im gona do wat i did with king evry time i hav extra points this will b my new garbage can lol)
I had thought of maybe trying the game out, but if the DLC is relevant to get the full game experience, I'll skip it -- I am not going to pay that much money for a single game but in exceptional cases, and this is not one of them. I'll be waiting for the eventual review to hear out how much the DLC adds to the game.
You expect me to buy all the DLC for the review? I'm reviewing the 1000-point game.
That is shocking, but it is additional content, entirely optional. Don't see what the problem is.
Please don't be fooled into thinking the games is crap without all the DLC. MLaaK was great without the DLC, the few things I did download added to the experience that's all. I bought them cos I liked the game, and wanted more from it, but I didn't have to.
