Topic: Monster Hunter 3 Famitsu Scores are........

A Japanese magazine giving Monster Hunter a most likely over inflated review? What a shock!

Not surprised. I can't say the game is interesting me. Maybe it's those ridiculously huge weapons...

The game has sold 583,000 copies in japan in the first two days.

they have smaller weapons.... but a man is only as big as his sword.... yet I see females with huge "shields"

Yeah, i tried the game too but i can't get further because i don't know what to do...
But the graphics are simply beautiful and polished.

This is the third game to ever receive an perfect score from Famitsu for the Wii. Looks like an universally acclaimed game to me! I must get this game for my birthday (April 20)!

Capcom, you have outdone yourself here!

This could mean two things:

1. Famitsu is getting more lenient with reviews.
2. This is an fantastic game that will sell like hotcakes.

@Super Smash Bros: Or it just means it's a Japanese thing. Do you think that on Japanese review site's Halo 3 got 9s and 10s? No, it didn't, just like how all of Japan's uber-popular highly-rated Monster Hunter games rate 7s in the US. It's because MH appeals to the Japanese audience while Halo appeals to the American.

Oh, but don't worry, it will be an awesome game, but the reason it got a 10 wasn't either of your reasons.

I've read import reviews and everyone says it deserves the 10 or at least 8-10

@Bring Back Pluto: Famous saying "Monster Hunter appeals to a specific group [such as someone who would import it], but chance are if you like it, you like it a lot."

Trust me, wait for this to get into the hands of IGN, Gamespot, GameTrailers, and other big name sites. It'll still do pretty good, but more in the 7-8.5 range.

I think its really about how its advertised.
I've seen so many actors singers and even a politician (japanese of course) support this game and even be seen playing it.

@Bring Back Pluto: You guys don't realize how big this is in Japan, do you? This is massive! Monster Hunter the second biggest thing next to Dragon Quest (which is illegal to launch of weekdays due to kids playing hookey to get it) in Japan!

Trust me, when this reaches us, it won't do nearly as good.

I still think MH3 will sell as well if not better than Dissidia. (of course dissidia is for the PSP)

@Bring Back Pluto: Of course it will! You really don't get how big this is do you? MH is as big as a main FF game over there, let alone a spin off.

MH3 has it's own special edition black Wii. And controllers. It's massive over there!

@Sean007s; Nobody is really saying the game will be bad. Just that odds are the reviews are WAY more generous than they should be.

Ok ok...yeah i know they are too generous....but Monster Hunter over there is a massive game.
ill wait for the EU/USA Review then but from what i played,its pretty fun!
