Topic: Metroid Prime Trilogy/Wii compatability

I have read of issues with the MPT not working in some WIIs. Could this be a software/hardware issue or an update issue? Any ideas?

MPT is a dual layer disks and some Wiis (especially older ones) have trouble with them. If you have Super Smash Bros. Brawl and it works on your wii, you should be fine. If it doesn't play, it means something's wrong with your laser. Cleaning it with a CD cleaning disk can fix it, but if that stops working, you'd need to send it into Nintendo.

I think they've pretty much fixed this issue on newer Wiis, but if you have one from around launch time, you could have this problem.

The problem that my Wii had is that its lens was dirty, but a quick cleaning with the official cleaning kit was all that it needed to get it to work flawlessly (my Wii is from early 07, by the way)...

Wow, I must be lucky. I have a launch Wii and it reads Brawl just fine.

@SilverBlacktail: My Wii read Brawl just fine as well, it wasn't until MPT that it had trouble reading a dual-layered disc...

My wii read brawl fine until I got M:OM. After that, I had to clean it >: /

@Metroid_Fan/irken004: I guess I'll just have to be hopeful for when I get another dual-layered game.....

At first, mine was failing to read MPT disk, problems gone after a single usage of the official cleaning disk.
