Indeed I'm surprised by this news; I've still got to get the origonal Lost Winds! I bet the developers will still take their own sweet time making this sequel though; it'll be perfect once the game is good & ready to come out! Somehow though if not 2009; I predict sometime early or spring 2010!

I'll bet it comes out before Christmas. Especially with a name like "Winter of the Melodias" Their website says "Coming Soon" and it looks like they are just waiting on the ESRB rating. I loved the first one and the improvements for this one sound like it will be awesome!
NyxQuest is different, though it also uses IR to create wind patterns to move the character, the pointer is used as the primary movement engine in Lost Winds.
I like both of them, they're both beautiful and successfully create immersive worlds.
Regardless of which one people think is the better game, most (actually everyone that I've seen) agree that both are excellent and worth the purchase. I prefer Lostwinds, myself.
I liked the first one, but felt it was too short and not worth 1000 points, also it wasn't always clear where to go next definitely not an 8 out of 10 game which I think it was rated on NL, more of a 6.5 IMO, but the sequel does look interesting, might get it.
