Seriously guys where is all the love for this one? It's like the the creme de'la cream on the nes.
It seems in my opinion that capcom is very bad/naughty on supporting vc and wiiware. That's sad because nintendo and capcom are sort of bff! Also capcom if your hear my whining make a bloody deal with disney and release all the golden nuggets you made in the eighties.

Raargh me wants the games...

Btw who is that Christian humdidumdiSon guy @ capcom? Anyone?

here it is
Christian Svensson Corporate Officer/VP of Strategic Planning & Business Development

nag to him about all the games we're missing, i guess?

Licensed games are unlikely to come to VC. Nemo, Duck Tales, Rescue Rangers, etc. were all awesome, but it's not good to get your hopes up. Obviously the Ninja Turtles are an exception, but a rare exception.

You'd think ol' money-grubbing Disney would happily sign some kind of contract to release these again...if it meant they got a nice percentage of the download profit or something. If there's one thing Disney doesn't like to do, it's sit on property that could be making them money.

@cb exactly my thought. GO DISNEY LAWYERS!!!

@adam explain license for me = (noob) Nemo licensed?

The Little Nemo game is licensed from someone else who owns the property. It is based on a movie... which I've just discovered is based on a comic strip, only further complicating things. So Capcom isn't in complete control of this. They may have trouble obtaining the rights to reproduce the game, or perhaps they don't think obtaining the rights would be worth it.

Yes, that´s right. I just recently learned that the game was based on a movie, that explains why the characters look like Disney instead of the Art Noveu-comic. Yes, Little Nemo COULD have predated Bioshock with the design

I think Little Nemo is pretty good, but nowhere close to Duck Tales or the first Mega Mans. Pity it won´t make it to VC though.

It´s hard to know how much profit there is in VC for the publishers. Even if a title sells well, I guess Nintendo takes a rather big piece of the cake. It´s logical that a company don´t want to risk losing money by paying for a licence of an old game. Capcom has a large library of games they own all rights to, and they seem reluctant to release even those.

Not that it matters, but Aldawgs, it's not listed as a Disney film. It was made in Japan with help from some Disney animators, from what I've read. Disney doesn't own the rights. I need to see this. I love the game.

Oh, I thought Disney owned the publishing rights for that one too! Well, one thing I´ve learned today...

Whoa, and Ray Bradbury is listed as "Concept for Screen"! I've learned something today, too!

I liked the Mickey Mouse games on the Mega Drive.

There's another side to the problem, too...

I'm of the mindset that believes Nintendo didn't just create VC to capitalize on the profit....a big part of it is the emulation issue. VC had to have been at least partly created to give fans a legal alternative for classic gaming, as opposed to just downloading their entire back catalog for free, which has been a big problem for the House of N.

Problem is, like one buddy of mine puts it..."Maybe I'd pay legally for these games instead of downloading them, but compared to the vast collection of games available to play emulated, Nintendo's stuck on too much red tape to measure up." Not only will it be a LONG time coming before N can have every title up on their service, but with licensed/copyrighted games like Nemo, it most likely will never happen. But there's always the chance for miracles to happen. Maybe.

There was one Mickey game, I think one Sega and SNES, that was really good. I forget what it was called. Not Magical Quest, though that one was okay. I hate not being able to remember names!
Also, I played the heck out of Tiny Toons (SNES), too.

@adam It's the one you play through Mickeys history right? starting with steamboat willie in b&w and then go into color.

I don't think so. I think it started in some haunted forest.

@Zane - Micky Mania: The Timeless Adventure is what you are talking about where you play through Micky Mouses career, and it was a good game as was Tiny Toons

There was 2 other mickey mouse games for the Mega drive - World of illusion + Castle of illusion maybe this is what Adam is talking about although i never played either of these

Yeah, I did that update on Wikipedia year ago. It is not well known fact that it is based on movie, as it was commercial disaster. Comic is actually so old, that majority of the stories are public domain. It should take only or year or two for rest fall into same category.

From what I have heard from horse's mouth, split is 60/40 for favor of 3rd party.

Capcom's marketing chief (Sven) actually claims that Nintendo bought mass license for all of their games, and they don't have anything say to on when game comes up on VC. This came up last year when Bionic Commando Rearmed was released, and Nintendo didn't want to release Bionic Commando on VC to promote it.
