I think the game is well worth $10. It serves the same purpose as Wii Sports, by getting you used to the controller. Of course, after you figure out how to use the Wii Remote, the $10 tutorial minigame package isn't nearly as fun as it once was. Still, it's worth it just for Tanks, Billiards, and Target Practice. I also like "Charge!" as it's quirky fun, but it gets old fast.
Simple: Putting a Duck Hunt related minigame in Wii Play.
So you are saying if I for example if I do something and later I do it a bit differently, I ripped myself off? afaik only third parties can rip something off

I completed Wii Play 100% Platinum Medals in all 10 games. It was addicting the month it lasted in solo player. Ocassionally there's still some 2player Laser Hockey or Billiard match with friends. Yeah, it was well worth it and it's still played. That's what makes a good game.
Wii Play is a fun game that does exactly what it sets out to and does it well. It's designed to get people playing together simultaneously after they've finished Wiimote-sharing with Wii Sports. It is, for most people, the second game they are likely to play after Wii Sports and manages to keep the Wii interesting. "Wii doesn't just do Wii Sports," for the more casual gamers. Certainly there's not masses of replay value in it (unless you like getting the Platinum medals, which'll keep you busy for some time), but it's still a good selection of games and fun to break out at parties if the people at the party aren't interested in (or can't play) Brawl or Mario Kart.
That pretty much sums it up. The game has the basic goal of adding some fun little multiplayer games to your system when you go out to get your second remote, and it reaches that goal quite nicely, with the usual Wii-era Nintendo combination of simplicity and polish. For just an extra $10 over the price of that second remote, it's well worth picking up.

wii play would have been a epic win on wiiware along with online leaderboards and online multiplayer
This is ground control to major Tom, you've really made the grade. And the papers want to know whose shirts you wear
Now it's time to leave the capsule if you dare
I really liked some of the ideas, but the game had no identity. There was no overall theme to carry it. It really was not a game worth keeping in my opinion, so I traded my copy to a friend in exchange for Link's Crossbow Training.
@Raylax and warioswoods: You both summed it up very nicely. I'm glad to see that there are people out there (A lot more than I expected, honestly) that appreciate Wii Play. And to think that I thought I was the only one who liked the game at all!
Thanks for your opinions, everyone!
If you think New Super Mario Bros. Wii is hard, try Super Mario Bros. 3.

I certainly fall into that category. Wii Play isn't a masterpiece or anything, but it's a fun little pack-in with your Wii remote. I think all the minigames are good fun, and some of them are quite brilliant. It serves its purpose well.

I think it's a decent title with a good range of activities to introduce you to remote functionality. I actually like the "Find Me" game and the Billiards was good until I got Midnight Pool. The tank game and target practice are the ones I'm most likely to put it in the Wii for though. I really don't get the amount of slagging this title took.
It's the best-selling game of all time -- clearly it's a 10/10.

I don't believe sales numbers aren't indicative of quality in this case, any more than I would rate little plastic magnifying glasses or peel-n-stick tattoos a 10/10 because they sold millions (inside boxes of Cracker Jack). It's the Wii-mote people bought, and Play was a $10 upsell. (Also, see my earlier comments - I don't hate the game.)
I'm pretty sure high sales = quality. Titantic is the greatest film of all time as well and I think one of the Harry Potter novels is the best piece of literature by the same reckoning (or the Bible).
In terms of reviews (both customer and "professional") probably THE most underrated game on the Nintendo Wii. All the mini games for me and my family were hugely addictive. Even my extended family and veteran gamer friends loved it. I didn't like the snooker/pool game at first, but once I got the hang of it.......Well worth the purchase.
Though I respect everyone's opinions, I think one or two I'v read on the internet of the game are a bit hardcore-istically pompous and closed minded. It set out to do a job and did it extremely well.

Yes, but who is one of the top selling 'musicians' of our time? Hanna Montana. So your argument is a little skewed.

Yeah but as much as I like Harry Potter I really hate on Titanic

The best selling music artist(s) of all-time are The Beatles, and I'm sure many people regard them as the best musicians ever. Not only is Wii Play the best-selling game of this generation; it's the best-selling game of all-time.
This is a Kid Icarus Wiki I created in late October. It has developed a lot in that time, but it still has a lot of room to grow. Any help you could provide (e.g. fixing typos) would be greatly appreciated!
You guys are pretty bad at seeing blatant sarcasm from Sean.
Mind you, Wii Play, considering it was never meant to be a fully-featured game and was instead meant as an entertaining training tool for using the Wiimote, is a solid 8 or 9/10 product, imo.
Can anyone else come up with a better tutorial for a videogame? No? Q.E.D
