The Guilty Gear serie is very good, Tatsunoko vs Capcom is great, but is there a chance we're going to see some new fighting game on Wii? Meh, just missing the good old Dreamcast days when we were literally flooded by awesome 2D fighters: a dozen of Street Fighters, another dozen of SNK titles, Jojo, Vampire Chronicle, Guilty Gear X...not to mention the 3D stuff.
So, any rumor that leads to some hope for a new (hopefully decent) fighting game? I remember someone for Capcom saying they were definitely going to produce something because many people bought the exclusive controller for TvsC, but that maybe was before they sold their souls.
Top-10 games I played in 2017: The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild (WiiU) - Rogue Legacy (PS3) - Fallout 3 (PS3) - Red Dead Redemption (PS3) - Guns of Boom (MP) - Sky Force Reloaded (MP) - ...
I mean, the moment when they said "We're not going to make MvsC3 for Wii cause Wii already had its offering with Tatsunoko. We are focusing on another market", subtly implying that the can't care less about Wii and about the people who invested good money in the controller they released for Tatsunoko on the premise of more fighting games to come, they'd rather release games for iPhone or for the big consoles who give them unlimited chances of profit.
And no, unless the consoles you mention come with a real six button arcade stick, there's no console that comes with a controller really suitable for fighting games. These pads (xbox, ps, wii classic) are more or less the same, they are all approximations. You have to buy an arcade stick anyway if you want to play seriously.

Wii's kinda stumped for fighters unfortunately, 3DS has Dead or Alive and BlazBlue to look forward to as well as Street Fighter. Your best option is probably to get a PS2 if you don't already have one and stock up on good PS1/2 fighters, there's plenty about.
Hey! Listen!
"You know how fads are. Today it's brains, tomorrow, pierced tongues. Then the next day, pierced brains."

You don't need a fighting stick. I've never used one and never will. However, you do need enough buttons in order to play the game in question. Most of Capcom's games are 6-button fighters, and the Wiimote, even with the Nunchuck attatched, doesn't have enough reachable buttons to play those games. You'd need a classic controller, and those aren't exactly flying off the shelves, seeing as most people bought the Wii for motion controls. Why should Capcom limit their sales to those people? Why not release it on a console where it can be accessible to everyone who bought the system instead?
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.
