Indiana Jones Staff Of Kings is OK - Wii, WiiWare & Virtual Console Forum

I've been playing it since Tuesday and it's ok. Kind of has some Godfather like controls, where you can bash people into objects and push them around. The whip is pretty fun, and fighting controls work alright. There's flying levels where you control a plane holding the Wiimote like a control stick. I was surprised that the controls responded really well during it. There's plenty of hidden treasures to find, and Glory to be obtained. The glories are fun. You obtain them by doing certain things, like bashing enemies a certain way during levels. They give incentive to go back and perfect some levels. Overall, I would give it a 7.5 out of 10 but the fact that the Wii version has Fate of Atlantis as an unlockable earns it a solid 9001 out of 10.

Yeah they're pretty close to the Godfather. They also remind me of the Harry Potter Wii game.

So most of the reviews make it sound like the controls are completely broken...is that not really the case? I was really looking forward to this game, but the reviews have put me on the fence.

I think I'll rent it. I've heard terrible things about the game, but I've dreamed of the day an Indy Wii game comes out.

Important to remember many "professional game reviewers" don't like the Wii's motion controls -- especially true at IGN and Eurogamer -- so I would take comments about those with a grain. Sounds like it could be a pretty decent game in the same vein as Disaster Day of Crisis: not brilliant, but fun.
