Topic: IGN Wii Sports Resort Review

They gave it a 6.5/10 and claimed bowling is still the best sport. I haven't played the game yet but it sure looks like there are better sports then bowling.

I usually don't listen to anything IGN says, because they rate everything wrong in my opinion. I know it's just a matter of opinion, but IGN's is completely different from mine. Nintendo Power is pretty close to my opinion, and I agree with almost every review on this site.

...but SMG did not live up to its hype, and TP did. Most here would disagree.

I wish they'd have gone into more detail on each sport. I think their complaints are valid, but I don't think they have appropriate expectations.

Yes, it is a sequel, but that doesn't make it any less of a tech demo than its predecessor was. The game was designed to show off Motion+, and that's what it does. Considering you are getting a $25 accessory with it, it's actually a $25 game. I don't think it's fair to expect Pilot Wings instead of Air Sports.

The description of the sword play is extremely disappointing though. Hold B to block? Why? Why can't I just hold the sword in the appropriate position? Isn't that what Motion Plus was made for? How ridiculous. I hope more effort went into disc golf and table tennis, the only two new sports I really care about.

Glad to hear bowling still rules and that golf is improved. I think the game will live up to my expectations for the most part. I don't care about most of the sports, but that's fine.

No no no no no. That was IGN AU. They're terrible. IGN--the real IGN--actually really likes the game, as they've said in their many previews.

IGN isn't perfect,but I don't care for IGN Australia's opinion. I'm more curious about IGN America's opinion.

You cannot always trust ign AU.

Constant calibration of MotionPlus is what's worrying me.

That's what shows me that this review is a load of crap. Everyone else--litterally every other preview or review--has said that recallibration is a painless process. All you have to do is press down on the D pad. It takes like half a second.

I've never understood why people here hate IGN. I understand why people hate IGN AU, because...well they're just awful, but IGN is actually a quality site.

Quality?! Have you seen their Wii and WiiWare reviews? Some of them are so poorly-written and inaccurate, it's appalling!

I don't hate IGN, but I'm waiting for the IGN Nintendo team to do the official review. However what I read about the sword fighting not being true 1:1 has me worried.
