Well this is a bit of a letdown. I've never played a Final Fantasy game in my life, but I was rather looking forward to this one.

From what I've seen that looks like what it deserves, tbh.

Like most recent IGN reviews, this one seems really off, especially since he got the races messed up in the video review. It's the Yuke tribe that is almost extinct.

I think the Gametrailers review seems more articulate and "real".
7.7 if you don't watch the review by the way.

That sucks, I was expecting an Double A title, but apperently, time doesn't work in favor with the Wii.

kid_a, dont start with this type of FF game as your first. go for one of the originals like 1-6.

Well, I'm not much of an RPG man. I've enjoyed the Mario RPG's and Chrono Trigger, but to be honest my brain simply can't handle RPG's. Paper Mario and Chrono Trigger were brutally challenging for me, even though they're known for being pretty easy. I'm a huge action/adventure fan, however, and the beautiful fantasty environments, strange, interesting creatures, and unique combat system of Crystal Bearers looked really appealing to me. I think I'll still give it a shot once it goes down in price.

I don't care what game reviewing sites give Wii or DS games like IGN and GameInformer, because they're all biased, Wii hating jerks.
5.5 from GI
6.2 from IGN

I'll buy this game with no hesitation when I get the money otherwise to all IGN and GI reviewers, all I got to say is f*ck you!

i dont think its necessarily fair to say that theyre biased. i dont think theyll say that a game is terrible just because its on Wii. theyre more concerned about graphics and sound and stuff that we dont care as much about

Yeah i never swear or get really upset over continuously posted biased reviews for Wii games.

I'm just cool like that.

Yea and that's being biased towards Wii because Wii can't produce HD graphics like they're consoles can and docking points for stupid little things like sound defects and such is just being biased towards the wii.
I hope this makes sense?

How was the first Crystal Chronicles game treated? I ask because if the first CC FF type game was not accepted by the media as well as the numbered entries, then this one is probably no exception.

Let me just say, I will definitely be picking this game up; no ifs, ands, or buts about it. I'm basing my decision off of my enjoyment of the first Crystal Chronicles game that came out for the Gamecube. I loved that one. I love the numbered entries as well, but CC is something different. I enjoyed all of the different stories presented in the first CC game. This game looks to be more story driven than the first, and that means I should be able to get into the characters more. =D

Now, I haven't read the review because I don't want anything spoiled for me, so I can't comment on that. So I'll just reiterate: I loved the first CC, haven't played the handheld versions (but wouldn't mind gettin' a chance), and I am really looking forward to this version.

With the way the other reviews are going, I'm not surprised. Well, I'm scratching this game off my list.

I was a bit surprised by the score. While a review won't sway my purchases (most of the time), I'm not into "mini-game/action adventure" games to begin with. Does anyone know if what IGN said about the game being a lot of mini-games along with combat stuff is actually true?

& @Kid_A Nice to see someone who has the same tastes as me. I could never get into the RPG genre because the only motivation is the story, which you sometimes have to completely stop for about 3 whole days (real world, 24 hour days) just because you "aren't a certain level".

Calm down. Have you even played the game? Maybe they are actually right. Play it, then come back and complain if you still wish to.

This is the only thing that I hate about this forum, when you (Not specifically you, Chrono, but a lot of people here) don't agree with a review, you bash the entire site/magazine. It's ridiculous. Just like you, they have opinions.

Oh, I absolutely agree. After reading IGN's Nintendo is Lazy and You Don't Care article, I think IGN is compromised of Xbox 360 and PS3 fanboys. Not that those systems are bad [in fact I love my PS3], but IGN's staff looks down on the Wii [even though I agree that Nintendo is lazy sometimes]. I'm still going to buy this game, and this is why Nintendo Life is more reliable than IGN when it comes to Nintendo related reviews.

That review has definitely taken the game to my "might rent it sometime and see if I enjoy it despite the problems" list. I was kind of excited by the idea of big Final Fantasy cut scenes combined with action-based gameplay using the Wii Remote.

Although at times IGN can be harsh (I think MW: Reflex ended up with too low a score because it wasn't written by someone who ONLY plays the Wii--that does make a difference when reviewing a game originally available for the HD platforms), these are not minor problems that are being griped about in the review. I'm getting the impression that they kept trying and trying to make things work and then finally threw up their hands and said, "Well, we still can't get this right, but we've spent all this money so let's just release this turd and get it over with."
