Topic: I want a WiiWare remake of Batman (NES) badly.

You know how SUNSOFT did Blaster Master: Overdrive? I want something similar with Batman: The Video game for the NES. What I'd like added besides the usual audio/visual enhancements are a Batmobile stage, a Batwing stage, a Boss Rush mode, and the ability to also play as Robin, Batgirl, and Nightwing. I know they weren't in the movie, but they'd be nice extras in my opinion.

It would be nice but how many movie videogames get remade? I do love that game though. I've had the cart ever since my 10th birthday and I'm 31 and still play it once in a while. One of the best Batman games ever made. Return of the Joker was pretty awesome too. It had the Best graphics I've ever seen on NES.

Goldeneye says, "Hello." So do the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in "Turtles in Time."

Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.

Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.

Good point, Bulb.
And even though Batman and company pulled me into the NES game at first, that is not why I'm still craving a "remake" of sorts all these years later. As many of you who have played the game should already know, it actually had little to do with Batman apart from a few characters and cut-scenes. I would not be surprised to find out that the game itself ... trust me, I'm getting to the point. I would not be surprised to find out that the game itself actually started development as something completely unrelated to Batman. If the kept the music, level lay-outs, and most of the enemies from the original game, but changed the main character and villain and what little of the storyline there was, I'm sure SUNSOFT could get away with a very similar WiiWare title unless DC and/or Warner somehow managed to secure the rights to everything in the original game. I'd prefer it be a Batman game, but I'd still buy it even if the hero or heroes and final antagonist were changed. I'd buy it for $10 anyway.

On second thought, after playing Blaster Master Overdrive, I think I may have changed my mind.

Same as how the licensed Doki Doki Panic was never remade as a Mario game, eh?

This. Remove all things licensed to DC with something completely unrelated. Keep the gameplay the same.

Personally, I would prefer they took a licensed NES game and remade it as a non-licensed WiiWare game but kept the 500 point cost. It would be easier than making a completely new 500 point WiiWare game.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

This man has the right Idea.

The gameplay and graphics would still be the same as the NES game though. You were aware that I meant that didn't you?

I'd love this. It's actually been my personal little fantasy that Capcom would do this with Duck Tales...replacing the sprites of actual characters from the show, swapping out the theme song, and otherwise leaving the great--and unfortunately unavailable--game untouched.

It would be great if somebody set a precedent for this.

...actually, isn't this kind of what happened with Oscar in Toyland? Wasn't that the one that used to be a Trolls game? I guess there is a precedent. I just wish they'd do it with something that wasn't horrible.

So instead of Scrooge McDuck bouncing on his cane, we get a random archeologist on a pogo stick?

In a sense, Bulb, yes. It wouldn't have to be a mundane character though.
Personally, I'd like the game to have updated graphics and sound, but have the structure be the same. if Batman would have to be replaced, I'd prefer two characters (one of each known sex) who resembled Karate masters in tech-style Gis. Or maybe something like this: Untitled

It's basically what EA did when they created Henry Hatsworth, and that worked out just fine.

I think they should take Bible Adventures and all those games and reskin them with pagans and Scientology dragons.
