I don't see what all the negative fuzz is about. Complaining that it is generic, compared to what? Halo? Metroid prime? So what if it's sci-fi like those two, I still think it's a marvellous achievement and I really love the single player. Some of the reason i see all this flaming of the game seems like imo that it is to hard. Yes it's hard and maybe it's just hard for longevity. However, My first try on the game was on the third (out five?) Difficult levels and it demanded a lot of aiming and strafing skills and about the longevity, nowadays the conduit seems actually like a longer fps game than most, for example cod:mw for the xbox running in at approx 5 hours and TC at 5-7.

The ending didn't disappoint me at all actually the opposite, it took a couple of tries because the last aliens where rock hard and the cliffhanger was wonderfully shocking and surprising... It used to be a 8/10 in my book but now it's a 9/10.

The online sure is a marvel, I've only experienced lag in game 1 time out of 60-70 matches and the freezeinthewall glitch seems to have stopped more or less. Yes there are a couple of cheaters/hackers now and then, but i make it a sport trying to avoid them so it's all good fun. Btw people are often rainbowie shadows when they have respawned. Seems like people are hating on the game because their own bad connection and I only have 10/1.

Nintendofans really need to support these kind of games, like if more people bought the wii-speak which I did in anticipation for TC maybe more developers will support it in the future (Monsterhunter 3 f.e.) And if noone buys the so called hardcore games now, who will do it besides me in the next generation of consoles? I now that the Wii is underpowered in graphics but it's not underpowered in the range and quality of good games available for the system and I know that I will be standing first in line in the middle of the night to buy Wii2 HD.

The other consoles has great games to but 4-5 good games each on those consoles can't make it worthwhile for me. And using dual-analog-two-sticks or whatever for me is like having a haircut with a brick, it's oldschool in a bad way and wii's IR is the future, the way to go.

People really need to start supporting innovative and fantastic games. Meaning, go out and by the conduit today it's High voltage's first major game and some flaws are always there in the beginning, heck they are the first to make a REAL online game for the console. Btw while you're out a buying the conduit you might aswell pick up Little kings story, the best game for the wii of 2009 and also Excitebots since it won't be released in Europe because Americans doesn't buy it. Thanks... Oh and i bought Disaster and Another code:r so you can't flame me for that.

Overall the Wii is the ONLY current console that is truly innovative and hence IS the only nextgen console.

So make a fellow Nintendofriend happy, go out and buy some games....

Some people have problems with it, for me it works almost all of the time and I would say that the online is the best there is for Wii right now.

Cheating = hacking that´s what I meant.

People call the game generic, because they can. It's just a cheap shot.

@supermarioman You took the words out of my mouth. Thanks...

How are people cheating?
By the way...If I got this, I'd have to do something about my connection. I've been getting serious lag on a couple wiiware games lately.

Zane: I don't own the game, but I would like to points that are true about your first statement:
1. Generic? I thought generic was WWII, which has been done over 60 times if not over a hundred! Also the reviewers complain that the stroy is also generic, but I can't name many other games that involve a secret government agency and an alien invasion where they are both your enemies! Even if they were talking about Alien Invasion that only been done in: Halo, Gears of War, Killzone, and Resisatnce that I can name! And those are the so called "god games!".
2. Length: On Medium I've beaten all the Halo games with in 3 Hours, that is not counting times I died!, and if The Conduit actually has 5 Hours of gameplay, I'll welcome it!
3. Lag....: This depends on your area and server really.
4. Also many reviewers say that dual analog is the way, ummm.... IF IT TAKES ME 5 DAMN MINUTES JUST TO LINE UP THE RIGHT SHOT (Headshots) ITS NOT SUPERIOR! Seriosuly If I want a Headshot with dual-analog, it's going to take a minute or two, but with ir pointer it takes about two seconds!

@Supermarioman- Point 4. Yeah I know. Why would anyone in their right mind think that a traditional controler was superior to the wii controller when ppaying these types of games? Maybe they got confused using it and are just more used to the other one?
I'd love to pit a team of people with wii controls against people with the traditional and see what happens(If there was a game that you could do that.)

Hybrid Heaven did it, if I remember correctly, but it doesn't have to be a story stolen from generic video games to be generic. It is the same basic plot of approximately a million bazillion bad sci-fi novels and movies (and a few good ones, like X-Files). I haven't played the game, so I'm not taking a position on it but just explaining the general consensus among reviewers.

Come on, friends,

I don't know if I'd go 9/10, but I do enjoy the game quite a lot for an FPS. It's not too long and offers up a good challenge in the single player. I do wish the story took a little longer to develop because it changes gears a little too quickly for me -- the initial twist is in no way a surprise, but I was hoping it would evolve over time a bit more.

Control is excellent; I very much prefer the pointer+Nunchuk over mouse+keyboard of a traditional FPS, though I wish the controls were even more customisable (for example the ability to map more buttons to motions which is pretty restrictive, though the reverse isn't).

Like Zane I've had no issues to speak of with online other than a bit of lag in global match-ups or regional matches in small areas with lots of players. I do wish you could switch between game modes more easily. Having to quit back a level to try a team-based match kind of sucks; expecially when you don't always know how many friends might show up at a private match. Being able to choose teams would also be nice. Like Zane I have Wii Speak and it makes a big difference. Since it's only enabled with friends you don't get random fools chiming in (well, depending on how discerning you are with registering friends!). People do need to learn to calibrate it to cut down on echoes (headphones are probably a really good idea), but it's lots of fun.

I'm not the biggests FPS fan, but The Conduit definitely floats my boat. If Lucas Arts repackaged the Jedi Knight games for Wii, that would be awesome -- ditto if Activision/Bethesda got together to put out the Star Trek Elite Force games -- the Wii is just an FPS machine!

Are you kidding me? You just described the plot of 1/3 of FPS games out there. The story was a poorly done cliche, as well.

If I find a used copy for about $40, then I'll pick it up... I love the online, but dispise the single-player. I'm good with explosives... I should not have said that.

Yes, I played it. And yes, the game is a giant walking cliche. It steals from pretty much every FPS and Sci-Fi movie that has come before it. You can easily argue it's one of the games worst features.

@thefox Ok u played it but did you finish it? Please tell me, what are the clichés exactly. Name a few and then name a counterpart they've stolen from or something that's been used a lot. No movies though, games are another media, another artform. How many scifi movies or games are there exactly when there occurs alot of twists and turns? I don't wanna spoil the game for anyone but there is a lot of things happening in the game... Hating and flameing doesn't take anyone anywhere but it seems peoples opinion is biased upon all the triggerhappy reviews. Truth is everyone has right to their own opinion. However I think people that say this game is cliché is major-wrong.

I own it and conquered it in about 10 hours over two days. That was a big disappointment. I thought it would be longer.

When people say it's "generic", I think they're talking about the whole alien invasion theme with a lone hero to save the world. Sure they added their own twist to it, but it's all the same. Nothing in the game's plot was shocking to me.

I don't hate the game, it just left me unsatisfied - especially for 40 bucks.

I'm a huge FPS fan and an old school gamer so I always end up comparing every FPS I play to Goldeneye 007. Now THAT was an arsome example of an FPS. From plot and gameplay to game length, it was all delicious!

... Every game pretty much takes things from other games. That's like saying " Oh! Spirit tracks is stealing the idea of the train from Animal Crossing : Population Growing!"

I haven't finished the last level yet but I was pretty surprised by "the major" twist in the second last level. To say you could predict that would be near impossible. Stealing from movies and other media is really not helping your case. Samus = Ironman? They stole it!

Water Warfare supports both the Wii Remote/Nunchuck and the Classic Controller.
