My partner and I are getting a Wii. We are time limited, so my question is - what are the good, easy-to-pickup and not-to-time-intensive Wii/ VC/ WiiWare games? Ideally they'd be two player - cooperative or competitive, it doesn't matter.
A good co-op game is one of the Donkey Countrys or Super Mario World. Kirby's dream Land 3 is an exception but not the best in my opinion.
Otherwise I'd also recommend Super Smash Bros. Brawl or Mario Kart Wii since that would consume your guys' play time since their not only really long to beat but very addictive (and theres a lot of content in Brawl).
I think what SonicMaster probably meant is the games that have an ESRB rating of "Everyone". Games rated "Teen" or "Mature" are less casual friendly.
That's not true at all. House of the Dead is great fun co-op. That's a definite buy for us.
I've also played Mario Kart before. It's fun, and I personally love it, but at the same time, the drifting and boosting skills are not my partner's idea of gaming - she's good with puzzle games, and fun things like Wii Sports, but anything hardcore (and Mario Kart is hardcore) is not something she's enjoy, since I would beat her at it each and every time.
Same goes for Smash Brothers - if the Gamecube version is anything to go by (and I have the GC version anyway)
Boom Blox Bash Party Ghost Squad Geometry Wars Galaxies De Blob Gottlieb Pinball Classics (assuming either of you like Pinball) Namco Museum Remix The Munchables Rogue Trooper (though that is running around and shooting people in a war situation) Minon: Everyday Hero Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles
I think you'll find a lot of couple-friendly games for download as well.

Ooo-kay, so why act as if you're unfamiliar with Wii games?
Anyway I bought HOTD: Overkill at Target when it was clearanced to $12 and it's awesome. You'll need a gun peripheral. I'm not sure what your sense of humor is, some people find it offensive.
Try Wild Earth: African Safari, if you'd be interested in an educational... 2 people playing co-operatively at once without splitscreen.
Pinball Hall Of Fame - The Williams Collection
Wii Play actually has some stuff, the air-hockey game, the shape matching game, the target shooting, table tennis, cow-racing, and 9-ball pool, are all accessible 2-player (only cow racing is split screen).
and try some "WiiWare" (the downloadable games mentioned by @Sean Aaron above)... maybe Target Toss Pro Bags, Penguins & Friends, World Of Goo, Art Style, Midnight Bowling.
