So wait a second, this girl likes video games!!? Screw the WiiWare game. Go buy her a diamond, man! Run like wind I tell you!
Wow, i know. But anyway, all of these games sound great, but the one games that I think she may like, if it gets released here ever, or at least before April is Mario Party 2. It's out in Japan, so it may come out here.
FF6: Release year- 1994 Kefka's birthday - November 9th So.... my life is practically mirroring Kefka? Cool.
Yoshi's Story is a really good idea if your girl is not much of a gamer - it's not challenging, it's adorably charming, it's happy, pleasant and relaxed.
ie it's everything "real" gamers hate (except for me, I love that game), but it's another one my missus loves, because she gets to enjoy gaming without being intimidated.
Try Lostwinds 2. Toku is super cute, plus it's a blast to play. You could also try Max and his Marker of Magic, that one looks fun no matter who you are. Oh, and Cave Story, I know you said it might not be her teacup, but it's Cave Story. Everyone likes it.
Oh, but don't get her Swords and Soldiers. Unless she actually likes RTS's. Otherwise just stay away.
@WhoKnew: i thik this time it's ok, as it's a general thing multiple people could apply, and it's more specific than the universal thread, at the same time.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
Tetris party is good but it depends on what she really likes.
Super mario bros 3, Kirby's adventure are also good.
Off Topic: Why is everyone suggesting lame easy games? Girls can be good at video games, I'd bet that I could beat all of you at Smash bros. EDIT I would like to be a bit more specific and say that MM10 is not lame.
@SuperPeach Smash Bros isn't really a good point of reference since a monkey with a Wii controller has as good a chance at beating someone in Smash Bros as anyone else lol
I am the one you despise. I am he who says what you really deep down know but are affraid to admit. I am the Anti-Fanboy, the crusader of truth in a world built on your lies.
My Fiancee is a non gamer and She liked Tv Show King 2. But her favorite game is Mario kart Wii, she loves racing games but not VERY difficult. She doesn't like Goo.
Im getting her Magic Marker, i think its the type of game that is cute and has a creative plot and gameplay

The Magic Obelisk, Max and the Magic Marker, Nxyquest, Lostwinds, Toki Tori, Tomena Sanner, Cubello, and Art of Balance, as well as World of Goo and My Life as a King (although these two are 1500 pts.).
My wife adores every one of these games and I think any one would be a safe bet. Judging by your description maybe Max and the Magic Marker would be the best choice. Don't rule out Tomena Sanner though (because it just makes such a great gift and is one of the most insanely fun yet accessible games on WiiWare)... Or World of Goo and My Life as a King, if you are willing to shell out some more points, as they are possibly the best two of the bunch.
Kirby 64, Kirby is exceptionally cute in that game and it's easy. Besides there's 3 cute mini games in there and they are multiplayer. VC wise (except maybe Yoshi's Story) s the cutest game on VC. The cut scenes will get to her every time. Go Kirby! I beg you! Kirby is da ladies man.
