A lot of people seem to be complaining about the lack of Wi-fi integration in certain games and so I pose this question to you guys: What games do you think would've benefited from online play, DLC, or even leaderboards?
Bit.Trip.Beat definitely could have used online leaderboards. Hopefully enough people buy it hint hint that it becomes a viable option for later Bit.Trip games.
I reckon that online leaderboards would have been ace in PLATTCHEN twist 'n' paint, MaBoShi, SAMEGAME and Art Style Cubello. Downloadable updates would also be nice for Toki Tori and TV Show King to make the questions more recent, and add in extra features a la Alien Crush Returns.
Plattchen could've used leaderboards. I think that would've been great. But given how much work they put into it, I'm not gonna get upset over not adding it in. They worked on it for a long time.
Art Style: Rotohex would have been awesome. Even if I suck at it.
World of goo downloadable levels would be nice but they have already said thats a opion in the future (hell they even have a downloadable chapter planned out.)
I think ActionLoop could have used online; that seems to work well for puzzle games: not much latency to deal with normally and all that.
Otherwise I think it really depends on the game. Online is a bonus for me, so if it's there, great; if not that's fine, but the single game is where it needs to be strong.
I think of it as a bonus, too, but what I care about most is local multi-player. If I can't play it in-person with friends, I'll probably rarely play it.
Call me old-fashioned, but I like to see my opponent's face when I crush him.
Pokémon Rumble could have used online battle royale/trading. Bust-a-Move Plus! and Arkanoid Plus! could have had online vs. (as well as the other Plus! games that I don’t own).
